Bigger hammers.
New monsters, Iceborne was almost entirely returning old monsters which is nice in moderation but massively disappointing for the ratio they went with.
Unique weapon models, there's not a single excuse for the bone/iron models. Even the fucking Palico gets unique weapons and armour for everything.
Honestly that's it, I wish they toned down the RNG for shit like treasurehunts, endemic life, etc to pad out the gamelength. Monster Hunter has always been about grinding for materials but they made a solid 300 hour game into a 1000 hour one by fucking with some of the spawn rates for admittedly asinine content.
Unfuck co-op. I don't play co-op myself but the way the cutscenes lock other people from joining a mission until you jump through a whole bunch of hoops for no reason is the single most retarded decision Capcom has made this decade.
That's it, the game is otherwise fantastic.
no monsters except Brachydios variants
No clutch claw shit, better online mode again with ALL rooms and players visible not just a random 2%, reworking SOS shit, reworking the awful chat which was fine in World and then ruined in Iceborne for whatever reason, hard content again like Guild Quests in MH4U, and not only ATs for shitty elder dragons while all other monsters get nothing. Less cramped areas with less forced verticality and shit like sliding.
These are the most im portant ones. Also good would be to cut huntress so you can talk about the game without SIMS-tier faggots spamming their trannies.
No more sieges and RNG weapons that outclass everything
What did they do to the chat in Iceborne? I used it all the time in base game but haven't touched multiplayer in Iceborne.
corkscrewwwwwww
A TRUE BAT MONSTER
Get rid of the firefly things. I never even learned the forest map because they just told me where to go, even if their directions were wrong half the time
Monster game loop is random (no more 3 fights then runs off to sleep)
Able to dig traps in the land ( build pits to trap monsters or use trees to create rope snares)
Better controls
More randomness
Better character design
Better ambushing
Hidden zones to explore
more Atmosphere
Add some gadgets (like spy cameras and location flares that go off when tripped)
More dress up lol
Less annoying NPCs
Underwater monsters
better swamp fights that are slow and messy
Less climbing
Better looking weapons with less emphasis on realism. After just coming from MHGU ive got to say so many of the weapons of MHW just look plain and uninspired.
>More randomness
That is not a good thing
>Underwater monsters
>better swamp fights that are slow and messy
I hope you never make a game
get rid of maps like the forest instead
Actually immersive and atmospheric and not like an poor man's gacha MMO with AOEs everywhere and overplayed characters and story
jyuratodus was one of the most aids monsters to fight and you want the fight to be slower? kill yourself
More ammo for my LBG
No clutch claw and no baby mantles
F P B P
It'd be better to actually make them a mechanic instead of "pressi circle when stuff is green until the magic signal brings you to the monster"
No infinite items at camp. Bring back being worn down slowly on your last potion
>monster difficulty doesn't have to center around one-shotting you because you can just heal off any damage and fly back to camp for more
they put so much work into streamlining gathering only to make it completely irrelevant half-way through low-rank
Actually display the size of the monsters when you see them instead of having to trap and guess their size
Unrelated to OP but I tried both FU and XX these last couple days. Is there a non-retarded way of dealing with the double screen setup on Citra? Because I can't fucking deal with it. It hurts my eyes and it hurts my brain. I do enjoy FU, though.
G-Rank expansions are almost always just old monsters plus reskins, Iceborne actually has more completely new monsters than any prior G-Rank expansion. I agree fully with the sentiment about new monsters though, most of World’s newcomers were early game monsters and it was back to the monsters we’ve been beating up for the past decade with a couple exceptions. I love the classics as much as everyone else but the one thing better than them is new monsters that are good enough to become classics.
-No moving while potion chugging
-Make the decoration grind less obnoxious - it's worse than charm runs
-Actually diverse weapon skins
-Make armor skills less floaty and more like old entries where you either have or do not have the skill or its upgrades
-Either go big on bringing back shit tons of old monsters or double down on new ones a la vanilla Tri
-An online hub house/market again
-No clutchclaw
-A system beyond tempered/arch where they don't just get metallic (a la frenzy but without wystones)
-If we're doubling down on Palico mechanics, give me some dumb things to mess around with regarding their monsties
-Remove item chest during hunts, but allow weapon switching
-Tonfas
-Less focus on NPCs and bad story and more on hunting monsters
-Events that are less just Event Quest rotation and more like Fatalis claw days or Jhen sandstorms where the scenery changes and it feels like an actual event
-Changeable housekeeper
-Cera cymmetry and diablos chaos broker pls
-Better map lay outs for any place that isn't Ancient Forest
-Giant Arch Tempered Frenzy Yian Kut Ku
-A tie in to a real Monster Hunter Stories 2 :'(
I like the siege idea but I feel like its barely been explored. They need to add shit beyond " big monster fight by itself"
really what is safi achieving the RB isnt? Kulves lava ceiling is cool as fuck though. I wish monsters had more environmental interactions like that. Its my main wish probably.
bird up gelato
revert the series to pre 4th gen design decisions
no more aoe shit
no more homogenizing weapons
no more casualizations
no more powercreep
bring back village and guild quests
launch the game in a complete state
but that's just a pipe dream
>no more casualizations
>launch the game in a complete state
The first has been a thing since FU and the second has been a thing since the series begun. I don’t think they’re changing any time soon.
>revert the series to pre 4th gen design decisions
Yes please 4th gen was peak MH.
buff horn
pre, as in before 4th gen with the CB and IG, and the shitty apex mechanics, everything in World was just leading off of the horrible design decisions made in 4th gen
No more of this dumb MMORPG crap
If I wanted timed events and DLC and forced online I'd play some other trash
