its pretty good dude, you should try it if it looks interesting to you
I dropped it
Fuck these grindy pieces of shit with a novel of anime dialogue
It's good. Has some of the best pacing any RPG and that's probably its greatest strength. A blind, 100% doing every side quest will take you about 18 hours, a little longer if you want to get every ending. There's no downtime, no ambiguity, no filler. Its engaging all the way through
This guy is retarded
it was good back then but now we have crunchyroll
It's a pretty great game. Good story, memorable characters, a nice atmosphere, and one of the best soundtracks in gaming. Very charming game definitely worth playing. Good amount of challenge too.
Fuck no.
Most of the story is unconnected to each other.
Main story is just save the world from a big monster that doesn't have any motivation other than its primitive instinct.
Toriyama still can't draw more than 6 faces, every character liooks like they are palette swap from Dragon Ball or Dragon Quest.
Yeah it's good. Not that long of a game either so you can complete it in few days. JRPGs that are hundred hours long with combat that is slow as fuck are the worst.
>I don't understand how you tell people a game is not worth playing, especially one highly regarded as CT.
FOMO is not a good excuse to waste people's time, Chronofag.
It's pretty damn good.
Most of the story is unconnected to each other.
It's a game about time travel and cause and effect, the fuck are you on?
Good for its time but it's pretty much a super generic JRPG these days.
If you liked Ys I&II you might just love it.
There is no grinding at any point of Chrono Trigger. This is possibly the only jrpg ever made where grinding is pointless.
>n*gger
why are you so racist?
>grindy
what the actual fuck, have you even played the same game everyone else did?
you fucking subhuman degenerate?
>>nigger
>why are you so racist?
Liste user i am going to tell you the absolute true and nature of the universe, playing a game while youre a kid with free time, no ocupations and just having fun is not the same as just playing a game as a grown man with a feel of obligation just because people says is good. You get it? Not so much ago i started playing the firsts games of Kingdom Hearts but you know is just not fun, but instead if had the game on my ps2 back then, damn i would have been an awesome experience. Having said that, if you are going to go for Chrono Trigger at least make sure to play it in order to have fun. My take, is one of the best games of all time. Sorry for all the autistic writing
I haven't played it but I tend to find that when I go back and play highly-praised games from the SNES era and earlier, they feel primitive and flawed compared to later games in the same genre. They maintain their acclaim due to nostalgia and the impact they had on gaming and not so much because they're still outstanding. Once you get to N64/PS1 though it's easy to find games that still hold up, even if you've never played them before.
While games like chrono trigger and ff6 can be considered "timeless" and are still lauded as the cream of the crop, I cannot deny that these games really have started to date gameplay-wise and sadly cannot be judged based on modern gaming standards
Yeah, it's pretty good
Worth playing if you haven't
Shame the sequel kinda sucked
Pretty much.
Tales games from the PS1 era hold up so much better compared to the other mainstream nostalgia-baits.
I played Chrono trigger not so long ago for the first time and i was shocked by its greatness.
The sequel was better
Yes. The game didn't age in 25 years. It has modern controls and menus. Engaging story with no slow/boring parts. No grinding at any point. You have 6 characters but all of them are useful and you are going to rotate them (they receive exp when outside of battle). It has great music. The graphics do not look blocky like other snes rpg. The enemy encounters are fought on the same map, without the transition to the battle screen. (even modern titles like DQ or Persona lack that). There are no generic magic/skills. Nearly every skill (both yours and enemies) has an unique animation. Enemies are fully animated, not just static pictures. The best versions are: steam > nds > snes > mobile. PS1 version is garbage because of long loading times. (in other versions there are no loading screens at all)
Why are you censoring yourself? This is not Twitter, nigger.
You clearly didn't play it if you think ct is grindy
It did not.
Chrono Trigger is a rare example of snes jrpg that didn't age. I recommended it to bunch of friends and they were convinced it was a modern game with retro style.
go back to Zig Forums
>walk encounter walk encounter walk encounter dialogue walk encounter
It's a simple but very well executed game. Also the OST is god tier.
Took me a while to notice your pic lel
It's okay to type the i user
Nobody will hurt you for it
Isn't it weird that Triggerfags always praise Trigger for not being grindy but never gave the same praise to Cross?
Cross is even less grindy than Trigger.
No.
It's the quintessential JRPG for people who don't like or play JRPGs.
