The only reason she went through with fighting Abby is when that image of Joel flashed before her mind, but even that anger faded during their fight.

No. I fucking hated The Last Jedi and the new sequel trilogy in general. But this is literally what happened in the game. Ellie was 2 seconds from just letting Abby leave without a fight at all. I have all of this fresh in my memory from literally just beating the game a few hours ago.
