2) sometimes i enjoy playing games on my big TV from my couch vs. at my desk with my PC
3) it doubles as a cable box/browser/etc these days and i use it to stream content in addition to vidya
4) owning a console is not mutually exclusive from owning a PC
5) i'm not poor

The incentive to bring more casuals in the video game industry was to extract more money out of it by inflating prices, or more precisely, keeping the price stable while reducing production costs.

Apply the same business model of keeping people poor and stupid to anything else and you guessed the world meta at this moment.

Same. 140€ last year and took psNow for 50buck/year and played GTAV,Fallout 4, Bloodborn, Uncharted 4, God of war 4, Horizon zero, Control,Spiderman,Hollow Knight,Shadow of TR, Gravity rush 1-2, just started Dishonored 2.
All of this for 190€ total is a good bargain imo.
