I support him too. I just think he doesn't get a lot of support in general because Smash has developed its own small cultures around certain characters, and King Boo isn't one of them because Luigi's Mansion became a real series instead of a one-off too late, and because he doesn't have funny maymays.

At least he'll get a proper chance on next Smash, which is inevitable no matter how you look at it and you'll know for sure it won't be rushed to oblivion just to shill for a game so joke's on pass buyers because they'll always pick the easiest characters to incorporate and reuse animations from already existing characters, which King Boo is not a part of.

I was actually expecting King Boo or E Gadd to be a fighter or at least an AT in the base game, given that Luigi's Mansion got two sequels and a remake after being on hold for years.
I also haven't seen much support for Kamek. Yoshi as a series may be a dumpster fire but its still big enough to merit a second character.

Nah, lots of people greatly support King Boo, and I do too. To answer your question, I've recently started playing TTYD and now I fucking want Lord Crump in so badly, but he'll never come unless the stars align and Sakurai wants to rep the Mario RPGs with him.

I think that after the Plant, and Luigi Mansion 3, the King is gaining some real support. I mean, he is a full fleshed Mario character by now. And honestly, a far better pick than Waluigi.

Kamek in Japan is just another generic Magikoopa, it's another Toad/Yoshi scenario where there's the species and then the 'main' character who shares the name

Boolossus would be a good spirit I think, he is the only character from the first game that returns in 3 besides Luigi, King Boo, Gadd and Mario.

I mean, each and every Smash game has only three constants in it's Roster.
- The original 12 will return.
- There will be at least one new Pokemon.
- There will be at least one New Mario Character
For proper Mario games, not counting the spinoffs like Yoshi, DK and Warioware, that only leaves Waluigi, Pauline and King Boo as proper reps to be added. With King Boo being the only one with a canon Moveset, and probably one of the biggest roles in the "lore". I dunno, a case on his favor was strong enough already back on Ultimate's release, and after Luigi Mansion 3 is hard to deny his place as a proper Mario Character by now.
I doubt the Plant really put any nail in the coffin. We already expect a second Shillmon to come for Ultimate alone, and neither Corrin or Chrom stopped Byleth. Heck, you ever mention two Mario characters people actually are asking to be added (for better or for worst), not counting the spin off ones like Dixie or anything Warioware related, or even Kamek, so it's clear the fanbase don't mind Mario reps that much, with the Plant being the biggest controversy... and mostly because it made it OVER some fan favorites among the Mario series.
I don't think King Boo has much of a chance as DLC (though it's not impossible either), but for a new Mario Rep for the next entry, he probably have one of the better chances, specially if by then Luigi gets any kind of new game, which by now seems to be tied with the Boos in general.

Fawful seems more likely, on the premise that he is one of the few RPG characters to have a returning role, and a promotion one at that, from minor lackey to full main villain. Also, kind of a fan favorite. Still, Lord Chump deserves more love.

Just a year. Still, is hard to blame them, now that Min Min opened the flood gate and we are up for some months of pure silence between announcements now. Still, the fact that the characters still need Stage, Music and more damming for most promotions, their own Spirit Board, still makes an obstacle for some of the most popular promotions out there.

Yeah I know, assuming Square Enix is locking Geno away forever, Fawful would be the runner-up for the best Mario RPGs rep.
I just feel like with Lord Crump, they could probably reuse some of Wario's features and create a Bowser Jr. clone character that's heavier and bit bigger, while also keeping it true to the character.

Yeah, but in the timeline where hell freeze over and Sakurai ask Nippon Icchi for what character they would like to use to represent Disgaea in Smash, we now know that they could (and more likely would) say Etna, and Sakurai may be ok with it. As long as they keep the original costume from the early games...
