Real Time Tactics Thread

Talk Desperados, Shadow Tactics, Commandos, etc.

I have just finished the pueblo train mission in D3, was pretty cool using the train to my advantage. And finding an actual story reason why Cooper doesn't have the three shot quickdraw ability he had in the other games.
Also I restarted Desperados 1, Demo level still best level.

Real-Time Tactics:
>Commandos Behind Enemy Lines
>Commandos Beyond the Call of Duty
>Commandos 2
>Commandos 3 (inferior to 1/2)
>Robin Hood Legend of Sherwood
>Desperados 1
>Desperados 2
>Helldorado (second half of Desperados 2)
>Star Trek Away Team
>Chicago 1930

I cant handle these games very well, they need such micromanagement. I prefer when they have the ability to stack orders and pause/slow time like in Jagged Alliance BA or 7.62 High Caliber.
But I do have fond memories of Commandos, got to try them again at some point.

Have you played Marauder/Man of War? It's in my backlog and I want to know how long it takes to beat and how difficult it is.

Eh, the micro is manageable, at least for Desperados and the new games, because I am absolute fucking shit at micro'ing. Don't know how it is with Commandos though.

Post levels

only very few minutes of that one. Seemed fine, at least more manageable than High Caliber

So, is Marshall Wayne actually black or white? He appears as a black man in character model, but his portrait looks like Sam Elliott.

Anyone played the Partisans 1941 demo?

Nah. Have you?

yeah. it has an actual inventory like commandos.

Is Robin Hood good?
I never managed to beat even the first level. Something puts me off this game, which is weird because I loved Desperados as a kid.

damn that looks good, what game?

I sadly never played Commando, Desperados 1 was what brought me into that genre, what is the advantage of an inventory?

Desperados 1.

Can you actually pacifist run Desperados 1?
I am pretty sure you have to kill the first guard in the Mission 2, because you will never be so fast to beat the level before he wakes up and raises an alarm.

Dunno, never tried. Speedrunners always go and just gun down everyone.

ST is 85% off on Steam for the next two days.

wait is that first level in resident evil 4 ?

It's possible, but hard.
Also unlike Robin Hood, there is absolutely no reward or consequences for doing/not doing it.

neat

What is so different about Robin Hood apart from the setting? Different mechanics?

A bit. From what I undestand, you have your own base of operations, you can recruit mooks into your band, shit like that.

Sword combat is simulated by swinging your mouse around.

Reminder that Sam was a paid worker who wanted to stage a socialist uprising.

Myth: TFL and Myth 2: Soulblighter are the pinnacle of the genre.
