Assuming the rope in tlou2 is actually impressive in technical terms(haven’t played the game nor read the article)
That is the kind of things that actual reviewers usually look at, just like actual book reviewers look at grammar and sentence structure that readers give 0 fucks about, or how movie reviewers look at camera works and planes which most watchers give 0 fucks about.
An actual reviewer should analize the technical aspect of what they are reviewing, not only if its fun to play/watch/read. That is why sometimes movie/book reviewers praise works that are not fun to watch/read...
It doesn't go any further than uncharted 4. In fact it has less physics attached to it's cables and ropes than uncharted 4 does. It's clearly a point of praise to try and drown out the negativity and bad press the game is (Rightfully) receiving.
>(haven’t played the game nor read the article)
then shut the fuck up, you attention seeking twat
didn't hl2 have something like it? not quite as advanced, obvisouly, but ik for a fact i've seen rope physics be great in other games as well, just seems like a chance to suck some sony dick for a few clicks
It does, you can cut through ropes and cables in half life 2, which you can't do in tlou2.
Q Claw from Agent Under Fire was better
To be fair, the technical finer details in the game is impressive. It's just that the story and characters are really badly written.
Credit should be given where credit is due.
Can't make a game about trannies without plenty of rope
fucking based
>tfw using it in multiplayer it can stick to anything
I wanna go back
>booh good graphics suck
>demanding high performance is abelist
>pc owners are virgins
ok, i hate this games story and characters
>but look how pretty the game looks tho
Is it just the same system that they used in Uncharted 4? because they had ropes in that game too.
>split screen deathmatch using only Q claws to kill/escape engagements
Take me back
yes. It's identical. Even the animation reminds me of it, their wrists snap in the same way when they're rotating it.
I feel like that only makes it hurt more. To have so much time and talent used on something like this is a massive waste. Felt the same way about the architecture in AC Unity. Many talented people spent hours painstakingly crafting an incredibly detailed world only for it to be soiled by shitty story and mediocre gameplay.
one of the few games my dad would actually play. still got the memory card somewhere, he'd go through and actually get all the bond moves and shit
Don't get me wrong. I just like to praise the engineers for what they have accomplished as I am also a system engineer.
Less impressive than RDR2's rope and physics
Ellie doesn't even coil the rope properly though. Anyone who works with cables knows that you have to alternate the loop directions to avoid twisting and tangling them.
>Ywn hang out at your cousins place playing split screen with a multitap ever again
why live?
Ropes? Bombs?
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
The ropes are pretty cool though. They removed 95% of the ladder puzzles and replaced it with Ropes that Ellie can use to cross gaps and shit. You can toss the rope over buildings, get it stuck on geometry, wrap it around objects in the environment, etc.
YOU FORGOT THE GOD DAMNED LAMP OIL MORSHU
Underrated
movies and books can be art, games do not have that potential you stupid piece of shit. get that in your head once and for all.
Based
>games do not have the potential
Why user?
Sentence syntax matters, ignoring grammatical rules can make a book unnecessarily obtuse, and is reserved for authors that know what they're doing. Cinematography matters, even if you aren't analyzing every shot, you're still watching the movie, and making sure everything is clear and that your eyes are guided to the right places improves the viewing experience.
Even the little superfluous details in a video game can help enhance the immersion. The real issue with reviewers talking about this shit, is when they're nothing of actual substance to praise, so they're forced to default to shit like this.
holy shit lmao.
The rope and the mechanics behind it were pretty impressive. Though it isn't relevant in the grand scheme.
