Sorry folks, I'm gonna go with my own judgement on this one

sounds like the writers at Naughty Dog

Its not amazing but so far its pretty inoffensive at best and dull at worst. Apparently I haven't reached the super preachy parts though.

Says the man trying to defend the shitty and confused writing of this mistake

And by the way, I was an extremely passionate reader as a child and I'm trying to write my own book, so get fucked

What's the last nonfiction book you read, user?

>radio silence
about what i expected lol

You can clearly tell there's a split in the people responsible for this game, like every piece of modern fiction that is crippled by woke shit. Most of this game is pretty inspired. For what it's worth, it is a compelling and immersive experience. The struggle and violence between ordinary people throughout the normal gameplay is fairly poignant

But throughout the story you can find little nuggets of stinky shit. You can quantify them because they are immediately dissonant with everything around them. You can actually instantly tell whenever the game switches to a scene or setting that Neil got his hands on. It's probably not a coincidence that all these nuggets of dogshit contain all the storytelling that is being criticized

Well, i hate game journos just as much as the next guy but i don't think calling them loners is the most relevant point.

Still, you're right on wanting to form your own opinion and i dont think anybody here will disagree with you on this point.

Go ahead and eat the apple

It doesn't take much to realize this mess of a story emulating television dramas is bad.

I don't read non-fiction, it's boring. The closest to it I have is Sherlok Holmes, and I have some detective stories and thrillers but they mostly gather the dust.

Last thing I've read was Call of Cthulhu (I have a collection of Lovecraft's writing) and I also plan to go back to reading Dune soon. I also enjoy Poe and was impressed by his Telltale Heart.

What does this mean

I'm in college for translation, we study english writing

No it’s bad because a character I liked died

>budding medium

Videogames in the way we know them have been around for like 4 decades now. Let's not pretend there's some higher level of art form to reach here if only we give it more time.

druckmann has stooped to defending this shit anonymously on Zig Forums

You understand nothing

Nice classism.

I'll have you know i read The very hungry caterpillar and it had a more satisfying ending than TLOU2. Now what shitlips?

Yeah I don't understand how could someone defend the writing in The Last of Us and act like an intellectual about it

Film was around for 30 years before they settled on the format, another 10 before a good one was made, another 16 before a great one was made, and another 30 years before they made a film so good it was considered best for the next 50 years

>he still thinks videogames will ever be anything more than digital toys
lmao pleb.

>last thread got pruned
>retard is back with another thread
I hope you're getting paid for this shit.

This is the first time I've ever posted about TLOU2 for the Sony Playstation 4

Limited analogy since vidya budgets are already over the roof when cinema was kind of indie before Hollywood.

Anyway if something new in bound to happen, it's not gonna be in huge studios like this. They got their formula written once and for all, nothing budding on the AAA market

Yes but don't forget:
>no more than one (1) person on this board might hate the game. If there is more than one thread must be the same guy seething over and over

If you had actually read any books you'd know how bad the writing in this game is.

Lol

MAYBE WE'RE THE REAL MONSTERS

Storytelling and cinematography are not new, though. You won't see the storytelling breakthrough everyone seems to think will happen for videogames in the next decades. The reason story games suck is because they hire twelve writers who couldn't make it in other industries to write something that should ha e taken a single writer and editor.

There is nothing more pathetic than the mouthbreathers who think video games are art or tell good stories. The last of us 2 has a great story by video game standards. By movie standards they are on the same level as marvel movies. By book standards, they are on the same level as ready player one.
