>frees Abby and Lev
>then wants a fight to death
>then lets her go anyway
What the fuck is this writing?
I'd get Ellie not killing Abby under different circumstances, but why the fuck did she let her loose? Why not just leave her up to rot?

Amateur writing.
She's a better human bean
It's something men will never understand: women 'logic'.
you will never understand. the story is too complex for the average Zig Forums brainlet to grasp.
I can't see a justification. The ones who defend it never say why, revenge is one of the most used themes in movies or books, it's not special because subverted expectations.
no it isn't. it's just bad.
staight white male dies
realise straight whote mle death revenge ia poIntless
forgiveness to trnnies
Unless your name is Abby
you wouldn't get it.
It would have been better if she just left them hanging and keep it unclear if they survive or not
Sounds about right for a woman in my experience.
Have you ever seen more than one order food at a restaurant? Fucking hell you'd think they were trying to defuse an atomic bomb with all the dithering and second-guessing they get up to.
Games are an interactive medium, why not let the players decide
>whether they'll kill Abby and Lev up on the posts
>whether they'll just leave them there
>whether they'll free them
>whether they'll try to kill them again upon freeing them
>whether they'll spare them after trying to kill them
and give different outcomes based on player choice? Seems kinda fucking retarded to force one ending
Did you forget that Joel play guitar? Clearly the guy who tortured a man and massacred his way through a hospital in order to save Ellie would not want her to avenge his death and kill two psychopaths who have been tormenting everyone he cared about because he once played the guitar for a few minutes. In conclusion, you’re wrong, Joel play guitar
its called artistic vision, zoomer
Maybe Neil should've artistically envisioned a better game
I think it's important to understand the context of why Ellie went to Santa Barbara in the first place. You might think it's because she wants to kill Abby but I think it's more like she wants to find out who she really is.
throughout the game, Joel's specter hovers over Ellie and she's like that typical late adolescent teenager who's almost an adult but not quite there. So much of who she is still defined by who Joel was. There are a lot of little ways the game points this out, but the main one is where she forces herself into depraved acts of violence. In a way she's still pretty self loathing about the whole "I'm immune and couldn't become a cure for everyone". You can also see this come through when she tries to pull Joel's trick on Owen/Mel and completely fucks it up. She's not like Joel and her forcing herself to be like him is what the game is about to me.
at the end when she's in Santa Barbara, her younger personality starts bubbling up with her wise ass comments and I think that was on purpose. It's like her fully becoming her own person. I don't think she really knew herself what she would do with Abby, and while she's cutting Abby down, she looks completely dumbfound and lost.
I feel like the end where she's crying in the sea is probably the first actual moment of her mourning Joel's death. Her letting Abby go is more about her forgiving Joel and by proxy, learning to live with herself, i.e accepting your past failures and moving forward.
Real human bean... and a real hero.
>forgive Joel by letting his killer go
This is the sort of thing pretentious retards say offhandedly and hope no one looks into the logic behind it
kek
>he didn't get it
the writing is so lazy. Everytime Ellie holds someone up she gets overwhelmed. How can you lose againt an unarmed women you are holding at gun point? And when they meet up with Tommy and decide that its over and time to go home, guess what? Abby shows up and kills Jessie just to keep the story going
Dunkey gave it a 4/5 tho so I like the game now. Sorry.
abby kills joel. ellie doesn't kill abby. wew.
Uh. Why are they hanging/crucifying people?
>he still doesn't get it
People overlook the final Joel and Ellie scene too much. It is just too subtle for most gamers.
Abby lost all of her friends and the love of her life because she killed Joel. Dont pretend she didnt suffer for what she did
Are your expectations subverted yet?
based
Abby and Lev are captured by slavers who crucify the captives who dont behave

Not exactly a 1:1 but you get the idea.
does joel come back as a zombie and ellie and abby dikeout on an island?
Avenging a white male and killing Neil's husbando?
Are you nuts? She deserves to get away with everything!
>What the fuck! I can't comprehend faithfully written human like characters with depth!
>Give me brain dead smooth brain one note characters that pander to me instead!
Are you honestly so retarded that you can't comprehend that Ellie doesn't know how to find peace? She's been dealing with an absurd amount of internal turmoil and thought killing abby would put her at ease, she goes back and forth on this constantly in the last act, and in the end realizes it wouldn't stop anything. She thinks of joel and remembers her humanity.
The writing in this game is phenomenal and 100x more well done then whatever pandering waifu garbage you're used to playing. You have no criticism of the plot or the writing, you just don't like what happens, yet you can't substantiate why it is bad with any-kind of coherent argument, you're a literal child.
