What gender are you and what gender do you pick for your characters in games?
I'm male and it kind of depends. If it's western games wher you have agency over your character's personality and choices I'll pick male, but in japanese games where gender is just an aesthetic choice I'll pick females.
Male, playing female about 99% of the time. I also play males but only extremely rarely when the female counterpart is ugly as fuck.
As example, Orcs in WoW. Always male.

Female. Male characters when it feels realistic. Female characters when I can get away with suspense of disbelief.
Though sometimes for self-insert purposes I'll admit.
Male. I like bulky armor more than sexy armor. If there was a compromise, or more bulky female armor I'd play more female characters
I need to play as males because if I'm playing a female I'll spend too much time manipulating the camera to look up her skirt, look at different angles of her cleavage, etc.. I get too distracted.
Female for weeb games, men for western games because girls are ugly in western games.

I go back and forth most of the time. One game I'm playing male then the next game I end up picking female. If I see a robot, monster, or skeleton then I'm picking it no matter what though.
Male and I prefer to pick female if decent. If I need to see protagonist ass for several hours on a screen, I better feel to stare at girls one.

I have no problem cooking up backgrounds foe either sex and roleplay them since I have a very good imagination

Pretty much 100% male as most video games are just male power fantasies. Occasionally, I'll play a female on a second run just to see if their is anything different, which to no surprise their almost never is. Also, almost every female voice actress in video games trying to play a badass chick almost always comes off as terribly try hard and cringe. I don't know why video games can't get better female voice actresses.

Male. I always pick male whenever the option pops up so I can flirt with the cute girls in the game, even if said dialogue is usually superficial. If there's extra content for choosing to play as a girl though, I give it a shot in my second play through.
