Mary Skelter

So since the Mary Skelter 2 is on a sale in the Nintendo E-Shop, is the series worth it to pick up?
Looks like there will be a 3rd game.

It's pretty alright as far as dungeon crawlers go, and if you get 2 on Switch you also get 1 included as well.

Solid first persin dungeon crawlers. Out of pretty much all the ones on the Vita like Demons Gaze, Dungeon Travelers, Operation Abyss, ect, Mary Skelter was all around one of the better ones.

>and if you get 2 on Switch you also get 1 included as well.
So you get 2 games for only 16 bucks?
Holy shit.

I'll be getting it after I get back to home.

So there's pretty much no chance of 2 coming to PC at this point, right?

Just emulate it?

Does it run on any of the Switch emus?

Don't ask me, I own a Switch.

But I don't see why it wouldn't run if the emulators can run games like Zelda and Mario?

Well for the sake of saying. It doesn't. At least thats what the compatibility listing says. Yuzu fucks up at the main menus and Ryujinx doesn't even list it.

Well you can wait for it to run on the emulators, the finale version might have all 3 games, who knows.

Meanwhile you can play Labyrinth of refrain? It's pretty good too.

>the finale version might have all 3 games, who knows
It's already confirmed that Finale will have the dialogue scenes from the first two games, but only the main ones will keep the voice acting. It won't have the games themselves.

Already did. Loved it. Waiting for Galleria to come out assuming NIS doesn't go under before then. I tried that Sword City game, it felt way too bare bones for me. Kinda looking at the Trillion game, but idk.

>He didnt buy it physical when it was dirt cheap
Still the best dungeon crawler on the switch, and prob the better one on the vita as well

I came to like Spiritual Freedom more, but both are good.

Its not a bad game and like another user said on the switch you get 1 as well.
Curiously enough you're meant to play 2 before 1.

It has the same ecchi-comedic and unique, but not amazing world-building that CH games usually have.
The keen difference is the gameplay for Mary Skelter 1 and 2 is actually polished and balanced unlike most Neptunia games.

I vaguely remember the deal with Mary Skelter: Nightmares. If I bought it and 2 now, how should I go about playing them? The first one until I reach the ending, then 2, then back to 1 for the extra content they added that ties into 2? Is it completely separate or do I risk spoiling myself on the first time through?

>He didnt buy it physical when it was dirt cheap
I guess I missed another opportunity, I said I would be collecting physical games when I got my switch but I only have 2 so far.

I hate this.

Sometimes I wonder if people who obsess about physical actually care about video games.

2 -> 1 has less spoiler risk than 1 -> 2 -> 1, since 2 is a prequel.

It's usually agreed about video games as a whole that even if something is a prequel, it's best to follow release order.

applies less in this case since the gameplay of the first was redone to match changes made in 2

Thanks for the heads up OP, 60% off for two games is a steal, just 8€ each.

>Mary Skelter 1 is blanced

>2 not on PC

In the collection's case I think it even says or highly recommends you to play 2 before 1. Mainly because of how the plot structure works. If you want to do 1>2>1 then that should be fine, but play 1 with a cleared 2 save unlocks things in the first game so it saved you some time.

>Switch you also get 1 included as well
Hey, that's pretty neat. Now I don't have to buy it on Steam. Thanks for the info user!

On unrelated note, I wish Mary Skelter was a bit more popular so we would get more fanarts

Is this a good series to get in to, being a big Etrian fan? Is it good / as close to being good as EO?

>as close to being good as EO
You know the answer to that.

You can also wait for 3, which comes with 1, 2, and a previously nip only dating sim VN.

I actually don't. I'm trying to find a dungeon crawler to play because I've been starved since EO nexus came out

>which comes with 1, 2
That's not what I've heard (it's ) unless you mean in a limited edition.

Knowing 1's details like the ending or Snark's identity could affect your drive to finish 2, and the 8 oddly nostalgic items included in the remake then lack context if 1's played first. There's no way to other replicate playing 2 blind, when you can replay 2 after going 2 -> 1.

Finale only includes the cutscenes without any audio.

Mary Skelter 2 didn't even get the visual novel overseas, which was also a pre-order bonus,
twitter.com/IdeaFactoryIntl/status/1187178347014447105
and I doubt localized Finale will get that visual novel and the pre-order visual novel that's a swimswuit sequel.

There's still like 3 months for it so I'd rather use this time to play 1 and 2 so I can be ready for 3.

There is no game close to being as good as EO

>I actually don't.
That so? You must be newer than I thought then.

Wait they added content to the version of 1 that comes with 2? Damnit, I was too autistic about filling the map the first time I don't wanna do that again.
