Thank god i listened to Zig Forums and got a Nvidia card.

AMD drivers really are shit

the only time Zig Forums was ever right about anything

>BUT DLSS IS UPSCALING WHO CARES IF IT LOOKS THE SAME AND GIVES YOU 110% MORE FRAMES ITS UPSCALING!!!!!!!

>YOU THINK DLSS IS GOOD? LOL! ITS UPSCALING; WHO CARES IF YOU DOUBLE YOUR FRAMERATE! LOOK OUT AMDS SHARPENING FILTER!! NVIDIA BTFO!!

THANKS BASED LEATHER MAN!!!

guess i need to update windows for it to show up eh

you can download the driver from the site

TW2 is CPU heavy not GPU.

You need Windows 10 v2004 also dont forget to enable GPU Scheduling for this to work.

is updating to 2004 worth it, or does it still have issues?

You also need an RTX card.

no issues for me, if anything it fixed the file explorer crash bug from 1903

I updated from 1909 a week ago and haven't noticed any problems.

it works on the 10XX series

Pascal and Turing only. So GTX 10xx and up. GTX 970 owners are fucked.

Huh, I could have sworn when they first announced this DX12 Ultimate shit they said it was for RTX cards only.

Vulkan 1.2 support is added so you emulators bros should upgrade for fps bumps

Only RTX cards support the full DX12 Ultimate feature set like raytracing and so on. But you don't need a RTX card to turn on GPU Scheduling.

DX12 ultimate is 2xxx+ only, but this stuff is getting perfm jumps from vulkan 1.2, not the scheduling stuff (which is a bump but not the fps difference people are seeing in RDR2 and others, which are vulkan based). So it works on 1xxx cards too.

wtf is GPU Scheduling

I think you're thinking of DirectX Raytracing. They also said that they were gonna backport that to the Pascal 10-series cards, but it'll run a lot worse compared to the RTX cards. DX12 Ultimate is just a new feature set for DX12 that works on any Pascal and Turing card.

Bought an RX 5700 XT and haven't had any problems with it. Installed the drivers and it kept blue screening but quickly realized that I didn't update my B450 mobo BIOS and did that. Guess what? No more blue screens. It's almost like AMD drivers aren't the problem and just shitty Windows. But I guess it's much more fun to wank the dick to RTX than it is to actually not pay $1000+ for a decent graphics card.

tl;dr: Your GPU schedules its own VRAM instead of Windows. Resulting in less overhead and more performance.

As a 1070 owner I couldn't give a flying fuck about DLSS 2.0 which is rtx only feature and frankly I was getting fucked tired of Nvidia jewery but the fact they didn't hide this free performance patch behind newest line up is first time they've been based in a long time.

Vulkan 1.2 doesn't mean you get better performance. It's just a newer revision of the API with more instructions.

This allows the GPU to directly manage the use of its own VRAM instead of Windows handling it. This in theory should mean for a better gaming experience since it should improve the minimum and average fps you get in vidya.

Or it's because your BIOS was out of date.

>jewery

DLSS literally can't work without tensor cores (like physically hardware cant, tensor cores are specifically snap design for low response vector arrays).

Even with ray tracing off, for DLSS to work it still needs tensor cores.

>+40fps bad
>+5fps based!

I can't activate the option. Is the 1060 not compatible?

You're not fooling anyone you AMD nigger. Fuck off back to /g/ and Zig Forums to shill for your stock shares.

980 Ti here, feels bad, this option doesn't even show up on Win 10 v2004 for me with the new drivers

Attached: windows-10-hardware-scheduling-setting.png (680x358, 12.57K)

there is gpu scheduling for amd too, but I wouldn't bother updating to may2020 windows until there is another driver update

Yeah its not there for me either with a 1660 super. It looks like an RTX only thing but people are saying otherwise not sure.

Works only with 2080ti you stupid goy
Stop kvetching and hand over your shekels

I'm on a 1660ti laptop atm so I dunno if this scheduler thing'll even work, downloading driver now.

You need Windows version 2004

>looks the same
In a compressed youtube video maybe
You should only buy Nvidia if you are buying a 2080 and above, otherwise you are just throwing away your money

update to windows 10 2004. i was confused at first too, but apparently my windows was 1890

Feels good to be a 10xx chad, I almost bought that 970 meme lol.

DLSS 1.9 used CUDA cores user.

If Windows Update doesn't automatically give you the 2004 update, grab it here by clicking update now.

Are you sure you're running newest W10 revision? From what I've read MS automatically rolled back the update for some users due to issues with hardware compatibility.

Just make sure you read this page before doing such. There may be a good reason Microsoft has delayed your computer from the update:

docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004

Just upgrade to Nvidia Ampere GeForce RTX 30 series

once again it shows that AMDs driver team is behind

Uhm bros... I enabled it, got a bluescreen after restarting, but seems to be working fine now.

Haven't played a game yet, but Windows itself feels MUCH faster.

Apparently, this update fucks up with malwarebytes
