I always liked Neighborhood 2 more
mostly because my sister would always murder the entire premade Families of Neighbourhood 1 so her sims could steal their houses
Images you can hear

>10 years old
>playing for the very first time
>move in that big family into the bottom right house
>wonder why there's no furniture inside
>try to make food but they only have these shitty can of beans
>everyone keeps pissing themselves then falling asleep in it
>can't stop them from watering the plants
Then I quit and thought it was the hardest game I ever played. It took me a few days to realize you needed a counter to make salads.
Jesus, even I could figure that out when I was like 10.
It's because of people like you that games keep getting worse.
>it's only 340x272
I miss this game, bros.
rude
It's not like I couldn't figure out the rest after. I just didn't play a game like it before. Most games back then had a clear objective.
I was probably like 6 years old when I first played the game and even I immediately figured out you needed stuff like toilets and other furniture for your sims
Genuinely good song.

You can never go back
>tfw installed it recently and playing with Westwood's Command and Conquer Renegade skin pack
It's a funny sort of feeling seeing Nod troops flirt around with Bella Goth
>get makin' magic
>sell my old house, super giddy about getting a lot in the magic neighborhood
>didn't notice the lot was actually medium sized
>felt extremely frustrated
>never played again
That's sims 1 native resolution
That was my point.
>around midnight
>my sim is asleep
>Mortimer Goth rings the doorbell
>no one answers so he paces around the yard for an hour before going home
I took the plunge with Sims 4, and god its like half the good shit is in 3 and the other half is in 4.
Sims 3
>Great interactions, story telling, autonomy
>Huge open world and great towns
>Insane amount of content
BUT
>Arguable the ugliest Sims have ever looked
>Building system and CAS offer greater depth in some areas, but are dated
>Runs like dogshit when you install too many expansions
>TO THIS DAY hosts a DLC shop with thousands and thousands of dollars of full priced half baked content
>Very dated (but functional) UI
Then Sims 4
>Sims have a decent artistic style compared to the sweat bloated hams of people in 3
>CaS is overall great
>Building allows you to easily create cozy/cluttered houses, especially with bb.moveobjects and the OMSP shelf
>Multitasking is great, and moods can be useful and interesting at times
>Looks AND runs much better overall
>UI from startup feels much cleaner
BUT
>No open world, towns are fucking TINY
>No police station, grocery store, etc.
>Sim interactions feel less autonomous and boil down to everyone standing around eating and talking
>Expansions have less content overall
Honestly you can get mods to fix some of the autonomy problems in Sims 4, but what is really shocking to me is the worlds. SO fucking tiny.
Newcrest is the only one that seems to have a decent amount of lots, but it has zero personality as a tradeoff.
Anyone have tips for spicing up Sims 4's worlds and gameplay aside from "Install Porn Mods"?
>Anyone have tips for spicing up Sims 4's worlds and gameplay aside from "Install Porn Mods"?
Install drug and murder mods
install drug mods
Basemental is actually surprisingly polished and I really like it, however from what I've seen of murder mods they look way too over the top.
Is there a moderate murder mod that doesn't have mortal kombat fatalities and cars running over people in doors?
Never used the other ones available, felt uncomfortable and empty.
As far as i can tell there are a very minimal amount of QoL mods, its all about the over-the-top mods(murder, drugs, porn), it's a bit too much for me, but i suppose you can't really mod the soul of 1 in, which is all i'd want.
Yep that's what I'm feeling. The Basemental drug mod doesn't seem too intrusive, but the extreme violence mod is just too fucking whacky.
The only two gameplay enhancing mods I see suggested are "Slice of Life" and "Have some Personality Please". Anyone have experience with either? Might give them a try after I give vanilla more of a chance.
>DUN-DUN
>puts burglar alarm outside
heh... nothing personnel, kid
A doo ba doooo dooo doooo doooo doooo dooo dooo doooo do ba do ba dooo
I love this music.
Fffffuck I'm about to install and replay this shit again, aren't I....
>the virgin mansion
Remember sneaking down stairs late at night to play this and I almost shat myself
Better days.
the sims is 800x600 or 1024x768 but you can hex edit it to be 1440x1080
I loved Sims 1 and 2. They looked realistic and had soul. Sims 3 and 4 look like whacky cartoons and are soulless.
it's great, nothing else quite like it.
that story is absolute bullshit let me tell you that lad, the sims economy does not let you acquire millions of simoleons that easily, even if you farm gnomes 24/7 you barely get enough to scrape by after bills are paid
>builds a giant fucking blob of a house
Magic Town ... home
is it still a bitch to run on windows 10?
That is the most heartbreaking and heartfelt thing I have ever read.
Playing Sims 1 in a modern resolution feels so wrong. Like you are changing Sims 1 into being something it's not. It looks all wrong.
>he doesn't know about rosebud
>he really doesn't know about motherlode
>tfw could never save up enough magic shekels to move there
Even at full skill a magic show only gave you like 40 coins, and you needed 2000 of the cunts.
>rosebud
it's klapaucius
It's not that hard to run it on Win10 but it almost always crashes after a while.
if you run 1920x1080 that's soulless
but 1440x1080 looks soulful and nice
I remember not being able to get a roof over part of my house so I just had an indoor staircase completely exposed to the elements
