How Did They Make This Possible?

>The UK launch sales for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch doubled the sales of the Wii original.

They managed to achieved what FF7R didn't do (surpass its original). How?

>UK
Every time.

Probably has something to do with the Switch. Games just sell better on the platform for some reason.

>They managed to achieved what FF7R didn't do (surpass its original)
Kek. None of Xenoblades releases have hit over a mil let alone close to what ff7 did.

>uk launch sales of the wii original
so, uk just got the original game released on the wii?

>Xenoblade
10k
>Xenoblade X
17k
>Xenoblade 3DS
6k
>Xenoblade 2
23k
>Xenoblade DE
20k

I mean, is it THAT much to write home about?

This is a good result.

A remaster getting the second best physical sales in the series during a pandemic is pretty damn good.

Yeah shulk, get stuck in.

I am turning up the heat

Smash bros

Not launching at the butt end of the Switch's life and years of being more represented certainly helped
But then again >UK

Why are people constantly using UK numbers

The future is ours to decide

Same reason why Fire Emblem 7 did well for the franchise when it released in NA: Recognition.

People were able to play "that game shulk is from" on a current gen console. Just like how back in the day, Fire emblem on GBA sold well for the franchise because it was "that game that Marth and Roy are from".

If Fire emblem was released in the rest of the world as just a stand alone game, then it would not have taken off and the investors wouldn't have had the confidence in releasing sequels.

Smash sells video games, its proven time and again. I for one probably would not have picked fire emblem on GBA up had it not been for smash.

>>Xenoblade X
>17k

That is very impressive considering it's a Wii U. Xenoblade 2 and Xenoble DE doesn't impress considering the 10x bigger userbase on switch

Shulk wasn't in Smash back then, so it's only natural that secondaries would be whipped into a frenzy over his game after that.

Xenoblade on Wii was not a big release. So much so that NOA didn't bother releasing it in the States until a fan movement pressured them.

Now it's a household name with multiple games in its belt and a character in Smash.

Not that hard to see why the remake sold more.

I will now buy your game

LETS PRESS ON AND ON AND ON

>remake of a known game gets double the sales of the original game at launch
SHOCKING

FF7 was a huge commercial failure & is completely forgotten. Xenoblade is still topping charts

I'll always get a good chuckle of JRPGfags amazed at the fact their game wasn't what would be a commercial failure for practically most genres & Nintendo IPs

Timing is everything, remember that!

Probably because Xenoblade is a genuinely good game unlike FF7R.

BORN IN A WORLD OF STRIFE

>None of Xenoblades releases have hit over a mil

XC2 was at 1.8 Million at the beginning of this year, dumbshit. Hell, it sold 1 Million in the first month.

Basically this,

the original was a limited-run gamestop exclusive for a dying console. not exactly hard to surpass those sales.

AGAINST THE ODDS

The first game achieved cult classic status, so when a newer version released everyone jumped on the wagon to see what the fuss was about.
