I hate it.

I get chills every time someone unironically gets mad at me online. I thought I'd have built up a thicker skin by now, but nope.

I unironically hate modern social media culture that pretty much forces you to interact with fans in the most shallow of ways, not to mention be required to take stances on every retarded hot-button issue-of-the-month or you get disowned by your shitty “fanbase”.

I kinda wish brands didn’t have social media presences desu. If you have a problem or need to get in touch with someone, cool, email them. I hate this constant public-facing shite from brands/consumers, that you pretty much have no choice BUT to partake in it or else you’re fucked, and it just feels so shallow and fake.

I agree, artists shouldn't be forced to use social media to obtain visibility.

And I am gonna take my horse to the old town road, I'm gonna ride till I can't no more.

No.

Once a dev answered me in a forum and i deleted the account. That shits creepy, too close for comfort you know.

I think it's good that people take stances. I don't want to give my money to the wrong people.

I have stopped buying Steam games because Valve thinks they can win by not taking a stance either way. Say something about your thoughts on the issue or you don't get my money.

I remember making an angry post to Gaile Gray because I was mad about Eye of the North and the developers' lack of response on the issues. I don't remember what she said but I was surprised she actually responded to me and felt bad that I made such a rude post that it actually got her attention. I couldn't handle the pressure and immediately apologized to her. I didn't get a response to the apology.

Yes, unless they are fucking passive aggressive whiners.

twitter was a mistak

>get pissed off at a game and vent on a forum
>one of the devs answers in a nice way and now you feel like an asshole

Its cool when it works.
I once reported a bug on a steam forum for an indie game, and the dev responded to me, and even uploaded a hotfix, within 4 hours.
I was hella impressed.

What was the game?

>developer actually cares about the game their working on
why wouldnt you like this?

Great b8 m8 I r8 it 8/8

I cant tell whether the original review was being ironic or geniune.

On one hand, its a negative review. On the other, he played it for 1,500 hours, which is insane for a game you dont really like.

I honestly do know whats worse. Leaving an ironic negative review of a game you really like or playing 1500 hours of a game you dont like.

Only when it actually means something for them to respond and they're not just doing it for front facing shallow "we're listening" PR bullshit when in reality they couldn't care less about your opinion

pic fucking related

Why are game developers such pussies? I'm not saying everyone should be like Phil "Suck my dick, choke on it" Fish but man, if you are going to make a cultural product you need to realize not everyone will love it and be nice about it.

the situation is that this friendless loser idled an obvious meme game for 1500 hours for the sole purpose of leaving an ironic review in the hopes of getting upvotes, which he did not receive because he had no friends to boost its visibility.

>developers interact with the community and respond personally to constructive criticism
not a good idea

You don't actually have to idle the game, there's a program that lets you modify the playtime.

Only when people have thick skin, like harada

>Why are game developers such pussies?
You have to talk to the consumer like a child. If you offend them and they have a Twitter army, you're fucked.

I can see that vein on his forehead about to burst from here

When you have a shirt like this you are beyond caring about the opinions of 3D people.

>"If there's anything else I can do to compensate you just let me know,"
If Altair accepts any kind of compensation to change his score, wouldn't that be considered review manipulation which would get the dev tossed out of Steam?

>developers make a guide for audio modding
>follow it, but it's not working
>ask for help
>one of the devs responds
>triple check the guide and their response, but it still doesnt work
>rephrase the question so it doesnt make either of us sound incompetent, including a screenshot to show I'm following the guide/what he's asked me
>he hasnt responded since
I bet he thinks I'm an idiot

Steam wouldn't even notice, I have a review I was paid to post, I didn't put the "product was received for free" on it, and it's been up since 2015.

This. Murray on the other hand is embarassing

HOW ABOUT ANOTHER JOKE MURRAY

its great if they can take the criticism and apply it and make real improvements. if they do what Alex does and screech like an autistic turtle because its mad it cant run then thats when it becomes a real issue.

I can imagine the dev writing that while brandishing a knife and dancing around like Buffalo Bill
