>game using new icing on new cake that also brings old cake+icing every month
your point?
Japan is full of crunch.
Someone explain me the meme. What is "crunch"?
Crunch is when a dev makes the dev team Work for long hours and many days before a game releases.
Crunch is a Captain in the King’s Navy.
Crunch is when a company overworks its staff to meet a deadline.
Crunch is okay if there is a time and a half
That's only for people that can't bear to spend any time with the family units that they themselves created.
Crunch is an attack that dark pokemon get
yummy sippy chipy cwunch cwunch
It's like when you leave that 5 million world essay for night before the due date and you have to chug 3 monster zero and give up sleeping for that day.
Except for multiple days. For possibly multiple months. For no increased pay.
true.
Crunch is when the company doesn’t know how to schedule development correctly so they end up wasting a bunch on money on overtime pay to rush the game out.
My ass is perfectly round for a male.
Look at this moron. Thinking they get paid overtime.
Post it.
If they aren’t paying overtime, can’t we just contact whatever government agency and get them massive fines for violating labor laws?
didn't "Last of Us 2" spend 7 years in dev?
3 million sales vs 18 million sales
It's been 7 years since the first was released but I wouldn't bank of all 7 of those years being development time.
Salary has no cap on hours and employers do not have to pay them anything extra no matter how much they work.
Oh and if you're thinking "I'll just avoid salary then", there's this nice law too. I wonder (((who))) could be behind this?
>The FLSA requires that most employees in the United States be paid at least the federal minimum wage for all hours worked and overtime pay at not less than time and one-half the regular rate of pay for all hours worked over 40 hours in a workweek.
>However, Section 13(a)(1) and Section 13(a)(17) of the FLSA provide an exemption from both minimum wage and overtime pay for computer systems analysts, computer programmers, software engineers, and other similarly skilled workers in the computer field who meet certain tests regarding their job duties and who are paid at least $684* per week on a salary basis or paid on an hourly basis, at a rate not less than $27.63 an hour.

No need to stay oops. All Berries is the superior cereal.
Regular CC>Oops all berries
So, doing their job?
of course animal crossing didn't need crunch. they literally cut all content out of it to add in later
fuck you
This is what a crunch is
>GAme publish gives dev 5 years on a game with a release date on March of the 5th year
>dev spends 2 years "researching locations" to create vistas
>Dev spends 10 months shooting the behind the scenes trailers on the making of the game
>realize they have no idea what the game is going to be about on the 11th month
>12th month is spent brainstorming and desperately putting together a patchwork of what the original idea is
>spend 5 months creating trailers and making vertical slices for journalists to play
>spend 6 months getting everything together to start making in the game
>spend 3 months on recording the voice acting
>spend 2 months on 20/hr work shifts everyday to make the game
>Release
Yes. Doing their job. For far more hours and days of a week than they are allowed to have by law. While also not getting payed anymore for the increased work hours and days.
This is how Japan Kills people.
