Why is Japan so good at making strong female characters, while the west is completely incapable?

Every time I hear "strong female", I immediately groan because the west has overused the term for seemingly every female character imaginable (hyperbole). You ask actresses or writers how a certain lady is in a film or game, and it always comes back to "strong woman." Have some imagination. Why not a woman who's an absolute chickenshit, or one who's cute and innocent? How about a character that is weak-willed, but can't help it? I know they exist, but the west never celebrates them, ever.

It's because writers are hired by their friends and not by merit. Absolute hacks continue to shovel garbage that they'd never get through an actual book publication because there's no proof of quality needed in any form of media except novels

If you mean design wise yes I love how strong female characters but they use "N-no one treated me like a woman before" shit too much especially when it comes to romance with these type of woman or maybe im just unlucky and all stuff I watched and readed went with this route but yeah.

I'm sick of "strong female" anything whether it's western or Japanese. Women in real life are NOT strong and they're NOT smart. Their tough and independent act only lasts as long as simps enable it. Without simps women lose their rights overnight.

So you see women's independence is completely artificial. And I'm tired of how media keeps depicting women are clever and tough while men are mentally challenged idiots. If education and employment wasn't feminized women would fail and starve.

Because the ideal woman in Japan is a Yamato Nadeshiko, the perfect feminine beauty. Nips just sprinkle some badass elements to those women so that they can kick some ass with the guys, and they're good to go.
Western idea of strong female characters are women who are out of touch with, or even completely abandon their own femininity.

You don't need a woman to only be measured by their ability to wrestle jaguars. Not every person needs to be a super hacker or a super doctor or a super soldier to be relevant or garner attention, but when you give them focus all you'll see written is, "I'm capable just like men" and "I'm a woman who has hopes and dreams too" and that's the extent of their character

I won't argue that TitanxTitan is a great show or manga, but if you're going to complain that the focus of her character is being obsessed with the MC that's kinda retarded, because her entire backstory and purpose in the manga IS to be emotionally dependent solely on MC. If you don't care for that, that's fine but don't complain that the character wasn't thought out when her backstory goes to great lengths to justify this.
