>Every single praise given to TLOU2's story can be applied to Hotline Miami 2
>It remains fun also.
Where were you when the Hotline Miami franchise officially became the greatest games ever made?
Every single praise given to TLOU2's story can be applied to Hotline Miami 2
Hotline Miami games have a really good story and they didn't need super high production value mocapped cutscenes in order to tell that story. i like the way you have to piece most of it together by yourself in the first game. I like it when games can find more interesting ways to tell stories.
Hotline Miami is an actual game with actually good storytelling. TLoU is for people who think the Walking Dead tv show is cinema.
>try to play hotline miami
>ragequit
A girl you killed in TLOU2 actually played a game with hotline miami soundtrack on her psp or something
>not locking into the enemy
Beard's final mission was fucking satisfying especially once you unlock the flamethrower
HM and TLoU are not comparable at all. Jacket's story in Hotline Miami story was fairly resolved, as was Biker's. The only remaining loose threads were 50 Blessings and why Jacket hated the Russians enough to single handedly massacre them all which HM2 took care of.
According to an interview, they chose it because it had the same message about violence.
I'm glad they had the balls to end the series at 2. A third game would have printed money but also would have been completely unnecessary.
On a surface level, sure, but they both have underlying anti-violence themes, it's just that Hotline Miami does it better in every way than TLoU. It doesn't beat you over the head with 'violence is bad', it has a nuanced, complex story and the gameplay amplifies the message it's trying to get across. Nothing about Hotline Miami is forced, and it really blows away all the 'so mature, this is art' arguments that have been made in favour of TLoU.
>locking into the enemy
>not playing both games without realising thats an option
Who is your favorite HM character?
>Get really good at throwing weapons at enemies in the heat of the moment after hours of practice
>Find out about the lock on mechanic after 20 hours of playing
there's lock on? I thought that was a console only feature
Probably Tony from 2. Fists of fury.
Me too, but it turns out it's in the PC version too lmao. Click the mouse wheel
middle mouse button
Jacket/Beard
>kills people with his bare hands
>rides around in a van with his friends eating pizza
>gets to fuck corey
Pretty cool character
It was obviously too hard for journos to get past the first level, it needs a skip stage option.
>played 43 hours
There's lock on mechanic?
Hotline Miami 2 is retarded and the story sucks. For one they never even catch the Miami Mutilator. Shit game.
>hear how hard the game is
>play through both the games over the course of a couple nights
>have a blast but never really got stuck
What's the hard part supposed to be? It certainly is a challenge but streamers and some fags on here act like it's this monumental impossibility at some parts.
>For one they never even catch the Miami Mutilator.
Fuck, this got me. Great post user.
i was loving the story, but man the levels were so bad after the midgame that i never finished it.
i'm thinking about restarting it tonight
It's not nearly as hard as some people say it is, except for a select few levels (Dead Ahead, Casualties)
the boy with the thick skin
The Son
When you hear someone saying that a game is hard what it means is that game is hard for 90% of the retarded population
>tfw saw this at release and thought it was just cool trippy promo art
Do Americans really care about the fucking story in hotline miami
I dont remember what the story was, I remember the amazing game where I shoot people in cool combos
I usually played better without locking on except for a few times. Didn’t even realize it was an option until much later on. Biggest bitch was the boss fight in HM1. Absolute shit show that can only go down one way because every other way will get you murdered.
Where is it revealed he gets to fuck corey? It's been a while since I played it
probably beard, though jacket leads a close second due to how they contrast each other
americans ?
yeah the characters are pretty cool
and some of them are based on real people
What do you guys think would have stopped the end of the world? The Americans winning in Hawaii, the Ghost Wolves surviving, Biker finding out the truth or Jacket just calming the fuck down?
I didn't know there was either. Hotline Miami is one of my favourite games as well.
It's never actually confirmed, but most people think it was implied by the fact he is with her body when Pardo shows up. Her jacket is ripped open, so it looks like he attempted to save her.
That's the beauty of this game though. It has both good gameplay AND good story
Americans winning or Biker finding out the truth and stopping 50 Blessings both probably would have stopped the nukes.
>Do other humans really care*
Fixed
play hard mode and the maps will be mirrored and locking is not allowed
PC makes it easy but playing it on console is hell
Yes, but that’s is the beauty Hotline Miami 1. There is a story there if you care
Ok yeah makes sense. I never thought about it that way.
>tfw the game literally predicted this
