It takes a special brand of autism to dedicate countless hours just to be worse than a bot at a videogame

Somewhat fun to watch, but most of the autists that do it have mental issues that cause it to be not fun.

Thicc

C U N N Y

Watching someone play something at a high level: good.
Watching someone who has broken the mechanics to the point that it's barely recognisable as that game you enjoyed: BAD.

I like to watch fail compilations.

I think based Billy Mitchell eviscerated them.

Every time I see this gif I think about Rocky's theme

FASTER

faggot shit

Is it required to be trans to be a speed runner?

damn, look at that footwork

I don't have a proper opinion on speedrunning but i do have an opinion in animeposters and you should kys.

Fun, can be interesting to see how people break games. Glitches that are difficult to pull off but save a lot of time are pretty cool to see.

Pretty much this.
Watching nice runs is cool, but don't ever try to communicate or even read anything the runner's posted.
On a slight tangent, any% was pushed way hard for over a decade because NOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST MAKE UP RULES FOR A RUN OR INSIST I DO SOMETHING THAT RESEMBLES ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME. Never living that one down. Buncha autists.

Yeah, this. Although the greater point is everyone's going to have their own view and it all should be respected.

that dragon is too thick

Sometimes I watch a quick compilation of speedrunners going nuts because they beat the game 0.4 seconds faster than they did last week after trying and trying for 80 hours, I laugh at their autism and then go back to doing something productive.

It's a dedicated brand of autism, but as long as they're having fun and not killing themselves or others I say let em go.

prime autism

I like a middleground between time-saving exploits and actually having to be good at the game.

The DraQu runs of Doom Eternal are right in the sweet spot.

Fun concept ruined by possible the most cancerous community in gaming

I prefer slow stompy myself.

I only watch TAS

I prefer exploits that take effort to execute, like many kinds of arbitrary code execution. But then again it's really about seeing that trick at that point, and not really the game.

Why is a loli so fat?

When it comes to speedrunning, glitchless category is where it's at
I have recently been watching Sekiro speedruns, it's pretty cool how you can melt the final boss if you're good enough at the game

I'm only interested in the glitches, exploits and routing and not the speedrunners themselves.

Gives ya something to hold on to while you fuck em

She eats crabs whole.

They got metnal issues and extend it towards the game, the game itself is fine.

Thankfully we have both. There are glitchless runs to watch showing someone who is the best at a game and a glitch-run to satisfy my curiosity on how it's all possible.

I like watching speedrun fails, because i find extremely hilarious how those losers abuse glitches and errors in the game, and when the game stops responding as intended because of that they go "WOW! Nice trash game! Who made this absolute crap of a game!".

It's not a speedrun until the runner says "wow, that's never happened before" after they fuck something up

Can I take a moment and say fuck AGDQ?
I like to watch speedruns. I like some analysis from time to time. I don't need to watch some dude fellating over how awesome he is while not speedrunning the game.

It's difficult to accept, but speedrunning is weird.

You devote potentially years to replaying the same short piece of game thousands of times, often playing in ways which were entirely unintended by the people who made the game. I don't know how many people make anything approaching a living off of it, but I wouldn't mind betting that number isn't too far into double digits. All you get is the satisfaction of being the top of a leaderboard of, at most, a few hundred people, and recognition from a community of a few thousand, at least until someone else comes along and does it better.

Be real here, if you're a top football player or a pop star, there's millions of people who'd love to be you or to perform at your level. You're probably earning millions, or at the very least enough to live pretty well. There will be people lining up to meet you, take photos with you, and quite possibly to fuck you as well. The best speedrunners in the world have none of that, outside maybe if they save up their whole years donations and spend it on a plane ticket to fly to agdq where there might just be enough people to feel like a star.

However way you look at it, there can't be many hobbies that require more investment for less reward than speedrunning. It's not much of a stretch that anyone outside the community might think they're all losers. So many people put years in and come out the other end with nothing except a little more bitterness towards video games they used to love.

Be honest. Do you really believe this is a hobby conducive to a healthy body or mind? In fifty years, are any of them going to look back on speedrunning with particular fondness?

Ruins good games by causing devs to waste time on a small and pointless community of autists. Very much similar to tranny/gay problem games have rn. Ironic how similar they fucking are right now.

AGDQ has over commercialised. If you're talking about an interesting piece of of the game, strats, or techs you can shut the fuck right up if they get a donation of more than 5 bucks. Charity is great, but I'm on stream to see the runners not hear boomer memes read by someone with a speech impediment.

tfw GDQ coomers are trying their best to make ESA seem less and gets triggered whenever GDQ mentions and supports ESA and vise versa

one dude on twitter tried to seem analytical by writing a bunch of nonsense on the difference between ESA and GDQ when he had obviously not even watched the first 5 hours of the last event, which had an english commentator and donation reader

Pretty sure you can't run without a bit of speed, otherwise it would just be called walking!

I never liked speedrunning even before trannies invaded the scene, to me it's the most funless form of autism related to video games but to each their own I guess.

ESA has the right idea these days with stream one being more "straight laced" for a given value of that and stream two being allowed to be bonkers. The only contention I heard of last year was the stream two room trying to grab people from stream 1 and the organisers being iffy about that.
