I'm talking about Dominions, a fantasy wargame with unparalleled breadth and excellent fluff. Also production values that you would expect from a game made by two guys as a hobby, which Total War's production values would fix. Conversely, many of the main faults in TW campaign gameplay would be resolved by Dominions-like systems (namely, features like province-based movement that admittedly already used to be a thing in Shogun/Medieval 1, but also going for more wargame-y focus instead of trying to be a bad 4X). To be honest, the Total War bit would be pretty much limited to combat visualizations while mechanically it would be 95%+ Dom.
