Let's discuss the greatest indie game of all time Rimworld
Never played it. I like autistic games like Stellaris, Cities: Skylines, and Factorio. Will I like this game? It also looks autistic
It's like a sci-fi dwarf fortress with prettier graphics and simpler mechanics, the mods really seal the deal though
What’s dwarf fortress?
A very in-depth autistic fortress managing/civ game.
>simplier mechanics
Aside from not having randomized creatures Rimworld is more complex.
Do I really need mods? I'm enjoying playing it with only the expansion and I've been going for two in-game years mod. Everybody says mods are good, but no one ever tells me which ones and why. Sell me on them.
This is DF county, shill.
>greatest indie game
>needs mods to fix it
You bought his book, right?
With mods the experience can only get better, you got mods that add more food varieties, mods that add more bionics, you got mods that let you have children, you got a shit ton of mods that help make life easier(automatic harvesting of grown crops, selling prisoners who just tried to kill you without getting a morale debuff, UI improvements, etc.), you got mods that add weapons and armor, mods that add tons of character traits to spice shit up, mods that add religions, etc.
Basically if you enjoy the base game, just take a quick peek at the steam workshop's most popular mods of the past month, see something you like and add it.
>mods to fix it
There is a difference between improving a game and fixing it
It's kind of like a micro-scale cities skylines with more punishing shit
seemed fine to me when I played it without mods
>10% discount
Fucking jew
>automatic harvesting of grown crops, selling prisoners who just tried to kill you without getting a morale debuff
Those are cheats, now this is a mod *sips*
with the roadtrip special you can get another $5 off
>he doesn't have RJW
>children
>food variety
I'm sold. Thanks.
wrong
I bought the book, and it is actually great.
About the game though, the original is great enough for people wanting to stick with it and make mods, but not the other way. The game design is incredible for modding, which the devs also spent time on and it is a feature of the game.
>game has 100 different clothing and leather materials allowing you to customise gear to your needs
>only 5 different types of metal
>only 2 of those get much use
Weird disparity.
i dont play games where i cant self insert
literally just make yourself in game
Anybody else make all white female lesbian nazi colonies or just me?
>Rimworld
>Factorio
>Stellaris
>Minecraft
We live in the autistic golden age.
weird way to spell kenshi
I hate that it doesn't have a proper strategic layer. Start a colony in an isolated mountain valley or on a literal highway between settlements - your number of raids and traders will be otherwise the same. Seasonal raiding, all that other basic stuff you see in the simplest 4x? Nope. The framework for it is there, but I got tired of getting fucked by raids out of thin air based on a formula that became transparent over time.
I play without mods. And yes I bought the book
I also forgot liquids, other than that i'm not wrong.
>no Z levels
>more complex
lmao ok user
Something something z levels.
