Why is it so good?
Code Vein
Dark Souls without the pretentiousness
the game is a shitty budget dark souls if you've had sex with a woman prior
It isn't
Cringe
Cope
Cringe
>DaS games were rushed as hell and had plenty of content in the cutting room floor
>CV gets multiple delays for the sake of polish
Funny how DaS still manages to be a thousand times better
It requires dropping any pretentious attitudes and channeling your inner 13 year old chuuni to fully appreciate post-apocalyptic japanese vampire-demons. If you can accomplish that then fun will be had.
Fuck Scamco's DLC model, though. "Ha ha pay 10 bucks for this one outfit." No fuck you.
>dark souls if you've had sex with a woman prior
>implying dark souls fans have ever had sex
mia is hot
The story is cringe, but the gameplay is solid. It really doesn't need anything more. If anything, it would be better if it had less story.
I actually found the story to be quite endearing. It's soo anime and embraces it, it even does the "power of friendship" trope.
I guess because it's not western tranny garbage.
It's not, it's literal shit and only coomers disagree. The animations are floaty garbage, combat is brainless, little variation between individual weapons beyond the small amount of different weapon types, and the bosses are all just as floaty and boring as the player, the loot system is terrible, and the level design is nothing but bland, thoughtless hallways. It's complete tripe that is worse than the games it rips off in every regard, and the only people that will disagree are coomer faggots.
I honestly really love the gameplay and how it encourages you to be aggressive and use your abilities more. Helps it avert the "roll and attack" loop of regular Souls.
Io is also super cute.
okay tranny
doesn't even work as a shitpost retort because cute create-a-waifu shit like Code Vein is adored by trannies, and the real Souls games are still japanese, and uncucked. Jump off a cliff you tasteless slop licker.
okay fag
I thought the level design was actually pretty good. It's not original in any way at all, but it's pretty to look at
>combat is brainless
I guess if you play with a partner who does all the battle and healing for you
Even then, the combat is more involved than in Souls. It's not a perfect game, but Code Vein is a pretty good Souls clone.
This
Then I must be the biggest retard in the world for getting my ass kicked by this game
why are you so triggered by cute girls?
It's not.
That user probably never played the game and only watched Twitch streamers play it.
Granted, it's only difficult if you go solo.
Code Vein is good precisely because it is easier than dark souls. You can just have fun and fulfill your Ichigo Kurosaki fantasy or whatever
> The animations are floaty garbage, combat is brainless, little variation between individual weapons beyond the small amount of different weapon types, and the bosses are all just as floaty and boring as the player, the loot system is terrible, and the level design is nothing but bland, thoughtless hallways. I
All of these apply to every Souls game after Demon's
it really is not more involved. Yes you have special moves but they don't amount to much, and Souls weapons, even in Dark Souls 1, have a lot more moves than Code Vein weapons do. Especially if you play a build with any sort of spells, even in DaS1 combat is more complex in Souls, and it isn't even close with DaS3 and BB, which are fairer comparisons as they are CV's contemporaries.
I'm not, I'm merely pointing out that the "tranny" shitpost doesn't make any sense here. I prefer an aesthetic like Souls, but Code Vein's character creator was the only aspect of it I liked a lot.
I did play it. When I said "brainless combat" I didn't mean easy, I meant simplistic. The challenge level is decent.
you cannot say this game is bad/easy/boring, if you use Final Journey in every boss fight
loving it
It by default of actually having a story has probably the best story of any souls style game.
>n-no u
they are far weightier than Code Vein's animations, and weapons in the post-demons games, especially Bloodborne, have tons of variation individually. Every BB weapon is totally different, barring the hunter saw, saw spear, and saif which all share traits
Is there anything wrong with simple combat?
Regardless, Code Vein's combat is more complex than in Souls.
Good gameplay, fairly lengthy, the blood code system and being designed around you being intended to keep using your gifts.
I unironically enjoyed it way more than Sekiro.
>give their public what they wanted
>okayish soul clone
>no forced identity politics
I had a good time
I love the story, but where I'm at now, the vestiages are just out in the open, and it feels rushed compare to the beginning of the game.
also, Cathedral is definitely a noob filter
the real problem, is in every Souls, and Souls-like games, there is little variation in builds. Everyone just uses generic builds, and there are usually only 2 or 3 of them.
I never tried Final Journey until everyone started crying about it being nerfed. Tried it and now I use it sometimes: there is something inherently cool about you getting your own second phase and pretty much taking a gamble (being a free heal doesn't hurt).
Sometimes FJ kills me when I'm about to deal the killing blow, but I don't get mad; that's how being a hero goes.
Mia's feet
I'm on original patch
I used FJ once, and felt that its way too overpowered, and trivialized the game.
>free heal, free boosts+stacks
>tfw moving with quick speed, with zweihander
It is fun though.
