Extra is pretty bad but serves as an intro to all the characters and the universe. If none of the characters interest you after that, just drop the series desu.

I played through Ayamine's route a long time ago and just stopped after that. Even if it gets seriously good after another 20 hours of Unlimited, I'd still rather read another visual novel.

Start with extra and do Sumika and Meiya route.
Then Unlimited : Just do whatever is your waifu route and Yuuko route.
Alternative : Enjoy the ride.

Extra was literal garbage that I had to force myself through over weeks, and then unlimited and alt had me playing for 16 hours a day until I finished it.

It's by far the best VN available in English, you're missing out.

Yeah, like a lot of anons are saying Extra can be tought to read but honestly is not that bad if you pay attention to the foreshadowing, the rest is god tier.
The only bad shit in Extra is some of the secondary routes, Sumika's and Meiya's is great, I don't understand the hate for SoL stuff, when it adds to the plot and the character development, aslo Extra is filled with a lot of foreshadowing.
Don't skip Extra, play at least Sumika's and Meiya's route.

I feel that a lot of anons just hate Extra because of collective hate, Extra has some great aspects to it, even if its not perfect (the secondary routes are half baked) its still worth reading.

This is everything Muv Luv related when I search for it on Steam, I guess not every game is there? There's no Extra or Unlimited apparently.

if you have access to a ps4 or vita its much better to play the triology there instead since the remake of the first one is not going to get ported to pc yet. other than that pretty its a pretty great series

Originally you had to complete the route of the two main girls to unlock Unlimited.

Higurashi and Umineko are a must. Personally the Grisaia Trilogy is my favorite VNs of all time but you have to understand that you should not take anything that happens after the first game seriously. Treat it like a BOTW movie and you'll have the time of your life
