Japanese character design

>Japanese character design
>LOL LETS JUST GIVE EVERY CHARACTER A MILLION USELESS BELTS
Zig Forums weebs will unironically defend this.

Velvet has the best design out of all of those. Lenneth is still the most well designed RPG protagonist ever though

why is ness there. are you talking about his backpack?

Bad bait

Miu's belts are not useless! They are cute AND lewd!

Ness and Chrono aee fairly simple, thats why they don't fit in this pic lol

Haseo loses his belt at his second transformation and is completely different by his third and fourth. Also Chrono and Ness barely have any belts. Fuck off OP

>male knight
>wears full plated armor from head to toe and weilding a 10 foot sword
>female knight
>wears T-back and weilding buckler and dagger
>Zig Forumseeboos praise it while shits on western games

which ones are the female in that pic?

Chrono has one sword belt and Ness has no belts. Tidas' design only has the one belt and its problems are more overall design because Japanese street fashion is dumb, Lulu's design was retarded on purpose.

Fine, you want a generic space marine? Here you go.

why ya throwing my boy robin under the bus like that common man

>chad face, filled with resolve
>simplistic yet effective use of green and gold
>artist said he intentionally made the helmet ugly to communicate a utilitarian aesthetic; design is iconic because of that

even the japs make space marines better

Lulu, Velvet, Etna, and Lighting

>>artist said he intentionally made the helmet ugly
But it looks fucking cool

>a generic boy with a baseball cap, a striped shirt, shorts, and a backpack is overdesigned weebshit
what did OP mean by this?

>has no belts
proof that SMT is the superior franchise

where's that guy from FFTA2?

Also Etna is iconic design and not shit in anyway.

Idk dude I thought the helmet looked awesome even tho it had a utilitarian aesthetic

Lulu and the guy to left of her are the only ones I would say have an excessive amount of belts. Honestly I kinda like Lulu's design. The rest of them are fine. Velvet's kinda pushing it, but I think the belts are the least of the problems with her design.

the demonica helmet stays on for sex

>Western character design
>LOL LET’S JUST MAKE EVERY CHARACTER HIDEOUSLY UGLY

>Kaneko design.
>Lol black upper lip.
Yes. Do it more often

Belts are Japanese pouches.

Why do people think every jrpg mc is nothing but belts?

>yoko taro: western gamers wouldn’t like our lithe and effeminate protagonist. Let’s redesign him to be huge and ugly
>game releases with huge and ugly protag
don’t tell anyone I like papa nier better though

Chrono has only one belt though

The thing is that due to culture, siblings just wouldn't have the same impact, and papa nier is not ugly.

I can name every single one of these characters despite only playing Chrono Trigger and Disgaea. That is a sign of good character design.

>Ness
Those are for his backpack, you fucking troglodyte. They aren't useless. If you want an over-designed character, then take a gander at pic related.

And yet he's still more recognizable than the majority of western characters

I can't unsee the smiley face on the helmet

>muh overdesign screechers
you just lack the colorfulness of the jap mind. its why they dominate the cultural sphere while semites in the west shit out indulgent and dysgenic garbage
