How important is a ost to you? It's at least half the game from my perspective. If pic related had generic music itd just be another copy paste jrpg but the music gave so much life to the characters and fights that it's pretty hard to compare it to shit like ff or dragon quest.

i'd probably say its as equally important as the sound design and visual design of a game. All 3 of these factors add up to the overall atmosphere of a game and its something i value very highly in games. A great atmosphere can easily pull you into a foreign world/setting filled with different characters, concepts, ideas and whatever else, and this effect makes you feel connected to both the story characters and the world as a whole.

Music can help a lot but I think you're a brainlet if you let the soundtrack save such a shitty game. Bravely Default is FF3 except 10x more stupid and grindy and no amount of music is going to to save the core gameplay.
