Any Hunter bros about?
Huntan
Compound > recurve
I wanted to like this game. I bought every bit of DLC and immediately went to Parque Fernando. I read a fair bit of the fluff; they hyped the shit out of hunting predators and such.
I waddled for about half an hour, taking note of how the landscape looks like something made for a Playstation 2 if it's more than 50m or so from you, killed a couple of deer, then spotted a puma— the majestic ultra-trophy animal of the area— running back and forth over an area of about 10 feet, like it was having some sort of fit. I killed it in one badly-rated shot to the gut and refunded the game.
I kind of wanted to try out crossbows, but $50 (including DLC; I want all content available) for a game that looks like shit anytime you're using a scope, with "smart" animals that are prone to just having seizures and becoming free kills, doesn't seem worth that.
>taking note of how the landscape looks like something made for a Playstation 2 if it's more than 50m or so from you
I can't wait for games to be made for high speed PCIE SSD's hopefully next gen. Imagine scoping down and it loads the high quality assets so fast in and out again.
I like it as my after work with a beer game, kind of how other anons play as euro truckers
Sure you don't need better specs mine looks okay comfy game
The dream user
If I'm not mistaken, I had everything on max. Definitely wouldn't have have played with anything involving distances on low except maybe shadows.
16GB RAM, 980ti, i9-9900k.
Weird it looked ps2ish
I can understand that; given how little seems to be going on in the game, I get how it could be relaxing.
Only far away. The foliage was pretty good-looking up close.
Yeah it's a good comfy game shame into wasn't for you user
I generally like open-world games with lots of stuff to do (Shadow of War, Assassin's Creed, etc.), so I thought it'd work out. I played a couple of fishing and hunting games as a kid (Cabela's Big Game Hunter, the PS1 version) and hoped to find something more in-depth for hunting than in those open-world games that make it a side activity (it's not half bad in Red Dead Redemption 2).
I'd probably play ARK solo over TheHunter for something self-paced and open, even though the dino AI is pants-on-head retarded, sometimes. I'll try TH again when the game + all the DLC combined drops to lower than $30 or so, maybe.
Fuck yeah, I was looking for a cotw thread.
What are you boys hunting? What's your favorite map? How the fuck do I hunt ducks?
Africa is probably my favorite map because it's super comfy and great for long range hunting, but Parque Fernando has so many fucking deer and is super easy to hunt in.
This game is super underrated, it's so good and packed with content. The fucking detail in the environment is some next level shit
You can understand why it is underrated sometimes, when you walk around hirschfelden for 40 minutes and see nothing but dense woodland.
You really have to get used to how to approach animals etc, sprinting around rarely works and walking is too slow. Once you figure it out though it is great.
Enjoying the new map lads, plenty of open areas for long range spotting etc.
Get duck dynasty reruns in the background and set a ground blind near the ducks for comfy fun bro
post some of your quarry lads
Picked this up last week, have like 100 hours into it already, and got all the map DLCs plus ATVs, thinking about getting the smoking weapons pack, a lodge, and tents/blinds next week.
I hate the amount of DLC, but I'm not going to complain, I play it with my friends, and the fact that they don't have to buy the maps in order to play them with me is nice.
I just found out about need zones, hunting pressure, and animal packs, which changed the way I'm playing a bit, I'm experiencing a bit of burnout, but it's definitely very comfy to listen to stuff in the background while shooting animals.
The RAC on this motherfucker made me think he was a diamond trophy, but he was too light and I fucked the shot up.
Yeah I figured out how to hunt zones and grabbed these maps to get general areas for what I'm trying to hunt.
Fucking Blackbuck evade me really hard though, I haven't managed to get one yet. Every time I spot one it bolts.
I see he did the usual fall in a bad spot for a photograph too
I collapsed this lad on a road and quite liked its rac
I thought this was a thread for hunters, not limp wristed faggots who can’t use a real bow.
Diamond lion and buffalo in the crib too
>less than 5 euro for the base game with discount
>46.32 euro for base game plus all DLC with discount
The fuck is this bullshit?
Anyone with experience in all the maps able to input on which ones are worth getting? Or am I just best off playing them online for free?
You can just pirate it you know.
I will now that I know how jewish the devs are.
I put a few hours into each online (great how you can do that). The more I played on them I just wanted to buy them. Also it then keeps your feeding zones etc on the map if you discover them locally.
The africa map is great for hunting some lions and buffalo, it is quite open too so you can spot things more easily I find.
The base game is 2 maps, there's 6 dlc maps, they're all 25 square miles+
You can play for hundreds of hours on each map.
The dlc is definitely worth it if you like the game
Forgot to say I am enjoying the new map too.
Also you can try out DLC maps for as long as you want by just joining someones multiplayer session on any map.
NOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST SHOOT THE ANIMALS FOR FUN
NOT THE BUNNY WABBITS
NOT THE DEERINOS
Silver Ridge Peaks is probably by far one of the best ones, lately my friends and I have been playing on that the most, plus you get a neat bow and turkey callers along with the map.
After that, Cuatro Colinas, Vurhonga Savannah, and the Yukon are nice, I play on those the most after SRP, in that very respective order.
Hirschfelden and Layton lakes I play when I'm burnt out on the ones above, but I still spend a good amount of time on those.
Parque Fernando and the Medved Taiga are the ones I use the least, although I've certainly gotten good kills on the Taiga.
I'm pretty sure Parque Fernando is the weakest map out of all of them.
Try them out online, look up the animals available in them, and see which ones you like the most, would be my advice.
>The dlc is definitely worth it if you like the game
Wrong, it's The Sims-tier money grubbing. Glad I pirated it.
Turkey's are fun to shoot. The goats and sheep are great.
I ran into a few bugs though and I'm going to wait a bit for it to be ironed out before going back.
Choosing which park to play on start up is super hard because they're all so different and fun in their own way
What other games featuring hunting would you all recommend?
Read Dead Redemption 2?
Far Cry 5?
No restrictions on genre, type of hunting, setting, etc. Just anything you think is sort of related. Ex: Monster Hunter and ARK.
