From my experience on Zig Forums retards only have a problem with this term because they think "loop" implies continuing forever, so they immediately mentally leap to f2p and mobile.

Not him but if I recall it was some Youtuber's thing saying that games build up the villain before you fight them, which is what most games do.

it means that the actions your the player can take go against the plot's description of what happens
most common example given is Nathan Drake in uncharted killing thousands of enemies because that's the gameplay, and then in a cutscene later he'll struggle to want to shoot someone
another example is like how regardless of which weapons you choose in Resident Evil 4 Leon will always only have the handgun and knife in cutscenes
