i took sivir mid and build bruiser and wrecked peoples shit.

Yi and Annie dominated everyone
ADCs were played mostly mid
You could be destroying the second turret at 10mins mid if you played sivir or tristana mid and were good
Nidalee was the best splitpusher in the game if you were good

Pretty comfy.

sounds like a cancer meta.

explain. how was this the case when the meta was so wonky

The meta wasn't solidified like it has been for 10 years now, so that was nice

Season 1 was pretty silly.

There was no meta. That's why he found it comfy. Only two characters could jungle, 2 top was standard.

It was the only time when the game was actually fun.

it was fun but it was way imbalanced. there was no real meta but there were certain champs that stood out as very useful for certain tasks. in that sense it was similar to dota. personally peak lol for me was seaon 2. everything was viable, no one enforced stupid rules like a mandatory jungler or only mages go mid. you could play any champ in any role in any lane only the jungle was subject a barrier of entry because some champs like fiddlesticks or warwick were much more suited to it.
you could also do stupid things like build 5 sunfire capes on evelyn and just run around invis killing people that were to stupid to buy wards and oneshot her.

Was higher skill

because Dota 2 wasn't out yet, the players had nothing better to do than stomp

it's not that it wasn't balanced, it was just that we all were crap at playing MOBAs

And ryze
You remember ryze when he could fucking delete you at lvl 6?

Also trynda 7sec invicible was awesome lmao

I remember when fizz came out and me and my m8 would play annie+fizz top and would win like every single match.

God i miss old ryze

I spent an assload of IP buying dodge runes just so I could be allowed to play Jax, but it was totally worth it because he could regularly 2v1 once he got items.

You could play anything, anywhere, because the meta hadn't been enforced yet. Most games I played when I started in beta, there weren't any junglers, just a standard 2-1-2 configuration. Even later, having someone in the jungle every game wasn't ensured, it was about a 50-50 chance.

Carries could usually push towers over very quickly, so there was a lot of splitpushing, rating, and on coordinated teams, sometimes a strong deathball composition. Kill the enemy team and use your abilities to immediately push down a tower or two before they respawn. Yi was big into this early on because his passive gave him bonus damage on attacks and his ultimate buffed his attack speed really high, making him capable of huge early tower damage. Other heroes had their own strengths for the same.

Heroes had a little more variety in their abilities and playstyles because, once again, the meta wasn't set yet. To pick on Yi again, you could easily play him as a physical build or a nuker or even a tanky brusier with mediate. If you had the right runes and talents, you could even decide early game what your team needed, sort of like how Lina in DotA2 can easily be a nuke focused hero or a strong physical ranged depending on what items you buy. A lot of flexibility in hero playstyles were removed further into the game's life.

Old poppy was so fuckken nice

2hu references

Vlad was incredibly broken and banned every game.

Man I wish LoL wasn't cancerous garbage filled with subhumans and the constant need to rework and ruin champs to the point they're boring as fuck.

caitlyn mid was the shit

I don't know, I played dota

*ruins your game forever by inventing the top, jungle, mid, duo bot meta*

Wait they took those out?

yooo what the fuck was the name of the thing people used to do around season 4 or 5 where everyone but the person doing the hack would get disconnected? It was like a ddos but had a different name
I remember it took a while for riot to fix

*sexually harasses you*

It was like a simplified Dota 1.
So, nothing changed, really.
I still think le invisible bushes are moronic.

HOLY FUCK What happened to her?

>got fat
>became a huge sjw
>sexually harassed another girl

Built a McDonalds next to Riot HQ

Drophack

>diving with Vladimir because pool used to disjoint turret shots
>killing everyone while healing your teammates with Ezreal
>die jungling because you had the wrong talents and runes
granted I have no idea what the game is like today, but I had a truckload of fun in it back before I picked up HoN

Wild West, the meta didn't exist. Everyone was just there to have a good time, in Season 2 Alistair was the best jungler. In Season 3 Kha'Zix was midlaner and best counter pick against Kassadin who had 90% pick or ban ratio. I miss it
