wish i could buy it

Gets old after about 5-7 hours even with friends

One of the better first party Xbox games in some time.

Incredibly boring game with the same 3 objectives and nothing actually matters because the only thing you do anything for is a few costume cosmetics. Nothing feels permanent or lasting and everything you do feels random and in the moment then it resets. No danger or consequences.

Sailing is fun I like setting the sails into the wind

Garbage without friends, Bearable with friends. Needs progression.

based, matey

Really fun when you have a good crew of shitters but the amount of content is just too thin and samey to keep coming back to. By the time you've hit PL its pretty boring.

Game of the generation. Unironically.

Will be garbage until solo is more rewarding.

Co-op isn't even rewarding.

Nothing you do in the game is rewarding. Cosmetics aren't rewards

THIS. It has nice ocean physics and good sailing. That's about it. It's a fucking turd of a game made for baby retards so anyone can play it. This is the quintessential dumbed down video game. I despise the morons working at Rare.

Killing other crews and figuratively skullfucking them while they cry on voice chat is absolutely based.

The combat is harder than run of the mill AAA games, so I have no clue what it is you're smoking. Unless you mean killing skellies, which is literally filler content. This game is meant for PvP mostly.

wide as an ocean, shallow as a bucket of water. haven't played in over a year so maybe it's better but from what I heard it's just gotten shittier.

I get fucked all the time and I usually just say "I have no loot but okay" and then some 14-15 year old says "GET FUCKED FAGGOT" and I just laugh over the mic and then reset.

Sometimes I get four or five chests and turn them in with no issues at all, and the one or two times I actually get taken down I have nothing. So it's like, that's not even consistent.
Sometimes when another crew pummels me it's actually helpful since it's basically fast travel back to a port when I was just bored and had nothing anyway.

>The combat is harder than run of the mill AAA games

LMFAO. No it isn't at all. You just aim and fire which will kill immediately if it's placed right, and if you run out of ammo you just constantly mash left click with the sword and jump around.

>You just aim and fire which will kill immediately if it's placed right
Shocking.

>and if you run out of ammo you just constantly mash left click with the sword and jump around
Either you haven't fought a player, fought a skelly, or fought one got rekt and you think that's what combat is, or you're just lying to prove your point.

That's without even talking about the actual naval combat, which has a ton of depth and tactics and possibilities.

This is true but it is also one of the most interesting games out there simply because the game industry is garbage

if you actually enjoy killing other crews in this game more than once or twice you have a super low fucking IQ. The combat consists of just circling around and firing 100 cannon balls placed in specific ways and then shooting the crew when they try to swim over and get on your boat. it's the same fucking shit over and over and it's barebones as fuck.

>a ton of depth and tactics

I'm fucking laughing. No wonder Sea of Thieves has some players. We have "high IQ" posters like this playing it and strategizing about optimum harpoon placement

This.
Bought it when it released on Steam because friends claimed it was super fun pirate game.
It is a decent game, I'll give it that, but once you find some treasure and fight other players once, you've done it all.

i was skeptical at first, but then i got convinced by a friend and subsequently my friend group started playing.

the core gameplay of the game is shit, except the sailing part Even though it's not realistic
needs better combat and better progression.
Despite all of that It's a fun social game where you can fuck other ships up and laugh your ass off while you hear spergs cry.

it's a better rust since you can grief other players from the get go without farming rocket launchers.

Also, ONE fucking dollar for a month of sea of thieves is the best deal i ever made.

>That's without even talking about the actual naval combat, which has a ton of depth and tactics and possibilities.
Look, if you tell me there's more strategy than "load the entire crew into canons and fire them at the enemy ship" I'll pretend to believe you, but only if you buy me a mug of grog

>You're just lying
Not him, 99% of my encounters are shooting a blunderbuss at close range and killing the other player instantly. Most of my teammates use rifles and snipe people that swim towards us after we've sunk them.

waiting for a lower price on steam

>Inb4 use the pass

i dont like having too many choice, i rater buy one game and play it

If you're pve only pleddit like 514592809, then boring garbage with no gameplay. Otherwise it's piratin' all day every day, brig pvp best pvp.

based beyond belief

I don't get this concept. When I get attacked in Sea of Thieves I don't whine or consider it grief.

I usually have nothing or very little of value and the only thing you're really doing is slowing down my next 10,000 gold payday to get me closer to a rifle customization I don't need and don't really see.

cry about it

>ME HEARTIES THERE'S A NIGGER ON AFT BOW

I know you think you're a badass on Sea of Thieves and I'm secretly really upset. I'll level with you. I WAS upset the first few times. And then I realized that I lose nothing and there's no consequence for death. Usually it's just a 500 gold chest or something.

I would actually prefer to be upset because I lost something of value, or had a real consequence, or if my ship mattered. But none of it matters.

Again, an FPS is about shooting. Shocking, right? I guess arma has no tactics either, all you do is kill or be killed with one shot!

The lying part was meant for the cutlass BS he claimed, which, when fighting an actual player is just going to get you killed.

Look, i'm not saying the player combat in the game is a fucking masterpiece, but the hyperbole with that post irks me.

Boarding has plenty of issues when playing smaller crews or solo. Unless you're the one getting boarded, in which case, you want to avoid it.

it sounds like you're crying to me. get sank faggot.

Definitely a true Sea of Thieves player.

Well it's the Sea of Thieves, not the Sea of Hugs, faggot.

I'm 100% agreeing with you. but this is the fun part. if i die, even if i have considerable amount of loot, i don't really care because there isn't a meaningful progress system and basically i don't lose shit. maybe emissary status? whatever i can just restart. But when i sink spergs ship that start fucking crying on the mic over literally nothing, my soul is at peace.

Everything you do in this game is meaningless, the only fun part is hunting player ships and "ruining" their day.

On the one hand I get the intent of the cosmetic only progression is to let someone who has played the game for 200 hours to play with his normalfag buddy who has only played for 2 hours.
But there has to be a better way to go about it

>Unless you're the one getting boarded, in which case, you want to avoid it.
Only if you have treasure. You want fun? Fill your hold with explosive barrels and sail around looking for people to board you, and when they do blow your own barrels and send everyone to davey jones together while screaming "ALLLAAAAAH"
That said I only ever played back in the xbla days so I've heard they changed pvp.

You entered in the right mentality for the game, just start sailing and fuck other ships up. even solo sloop, you will have 200% more fun like that.
but, if you don't like pvp or just took this game as a "looter sim" your experience is pretty much over.

The ship to ship combat is near perfect, but boarding is fucking horse shit. It's a complete mess where the meta is to shoot yourself onto the other ship and jump around distracting everybody without any meaningful combat because the gun and sword combat controls like dogshit. Boarding should require getting close and using a number of grapples to pull a ship in depending on it's size and how damaged it is. Or swinging from the ropes like, you know, pirates. Arena is fun but it's just not worth grinding a bunch just to get sunk without feeling like you've been bested on the open seas.

I've done some similar shit and the reactions are priceless.

some of the objectives are pretty fun desu, especially when other players show up and it gets heated.
