We are living in the Berenstain timeline, the transference occurred around 2007 and since things will only continue to get more and more horrific, and ... bizarre.

Stop expecting great things from AAA releases.

>RE3
lots of cut content
>CP77
more cut content being confirmed as we speak
>TLOU2
the whole thing
>FF7R
doesn't even remake 10% of OG game
>Avengers
looks terrible but nobod expected otherwise
>Tsushima
AssCreed but Japan
>Doom Eternal
lots of bad game design decisions like being forced to use chainsaw frequently to restore ammo and doubling down on glory kills

name 1 (one) good thing that didn't suck this year

>didn't know how good we had things
>pls let me go back

Nothing, I'm having a ton of fun playing Xenoblade Definitive Edition right now.

Nothing, gamewise 2020 was a great year

Nioh 2 was fun.

>What went terribly wrong?
Zig Forums went wrong because none of their TORtanic shitposting turned out true

Came out on the Switch this year and most people played it this year.

games are just dead man

Democratisation of Internet
Social media since 2007
Gamergate.

tranny propaganda

Alyx is GOTY for me
Mount and Blade Bannerlord was also very fun but I stepped away since its so unfinished so that doesn't really count
I thought Cyberpunk might usurp it but everything i hear about it now seems like some more bullshit
Maybe Paper Mario will blow my mind, doubt it but i cant think of any other games coming out later this year

Nioh 2

The grand phantom devil comes for all mediums eventually, under the call of IANVS, all with a beginning must also end.

The question is not what happened in 2020, but what happened in 2007.

Videogames were dead for a long time, but there are sparks like Little Witch Nobeta being the most recent. What we have now is gaming and i despise it so much.

Black Mesa was officially launched this year and its the only game in recent memory where I was really surprised. What started as a mediocre mod ended up being fucking great

>Doom Eternal
>bad game design
lol fucking pleb, got filtered

COVID happened.

Not him, but I found Doom Eternal fucking horrendous. Combat puzzles just aren't fun when its the same six steps again and again for the entire game.
Also the worldbuilding shit and how often the game just like pauses on you to point out an enemies obvious weakspot just sucks man. Where's the flow?

You should tell the governor of Florida, I'm not sure he knows.

Corona happening has been fun to watch if I'm being honest.

You are mentally disordered. Seek help.

started pretty strong in March with AC/Doom/HL:A, and then every major release after was just disappointment after disappointment getting worse each time. the sting being extra worse because the year sucks in general and we were in need of something, anything, good to escape. since march the only good games I've played are old games and indie games, AAA is a failure
