The progressives dominate key fields of speech control, tech companies in charge of social platforms, key high income areas in America where they get capitalistic cronyism as long as they put up a Wizard of Oz screen of progressive ideas, campus's etc. The actual tech sector outside of top echelon is fairly as progressives would call "Good old boy white sexist racist nerds" so it's not so much they adopt these opinions it's more they keep their mouths shut because they live in high cost of living areas and if you lose your job you might as well kill yourself like the Night in the Woods guy did. These are usually independents, Trump blew apart the polling and election because he got almost the entirety of this voting base plenty of which were former Democrats. As it is we can't say outright who's winning till we get closer to any form of election, media is working overdrive and COVID and riot chaos has suppressed this base who've hunkered down and are too busy trying to survive right now economically to be vocal. If they think progressives will take over the world, they'll vote Trump out of protest. If they think Trump is a spineless idiot they'll either not vote or go Biden, hope Biden delays anything too crazy from passing and then jump ship again.
