It got discussed all the time when it came out, you were too busy being born shortly afterwards.
there's a thread about it pretty much every week
I thought it was very good but if you play it coming from bayonetta or nier automata you should know it's nothing like these games, base dodging sucks, it's slower and more tactical, there's far less emphasis on juggles and there's FAR more options
>sub 30 fps action game
>gimmicky shit
>joycon analogsticks unless you have the 70 dollar NINTENDO SWITCH PROCONTROLLER
>70% of the game is waking around and talking to NPCs who were written by 12 year olds, or doing simple puzzles made for toddlers
Is this what it's coming down to? Can we really not have one thread if it doesn't have some kind of disingenious OP post like "wow this game is shit" or "2020 I am forgotten"? Fucking Zig Forums has gone to shit
It's a really mediocre Layton detective game with bits of action sprinkled here and there. Hope you like the color red.
It’s a good game but worse than pretty much any other platinum game
Combat is fun and has a lot of options but is slower than I would have liked
Story is ok
Game runs like shit at subnative resolution and there’s too many areas looking entirely identical
7/10
It's the best game on Switch.
Mini-games are garbage, but the main combat is really fluid and encourages using almost all of the tools at your disposal.
I didn't particularly enjoy it. The fighting stuff was neat, but everything else sucked and dragged on too much. I don't want to run around the HQ or investigate shit, I want to fight stuff.
Its great, I just don't have anything else to say about it that I didn't say the week it came out
>buying official pro controllers
I seriously hope you guys don't do this
>It's a really mediocre Layton detective game
>70% of the game is waking around and talking to NPCs
How to spot retards who got filtered at chapter 3
>If Zig Forums doesn't discuss a game that means the game is bad/flopped.
Fuck this retarded logic.
It's alright, but it has some pretty big issues.
I'd rate it a 7/10 though, deserves a sequel.
Game is good, but not amazing.
I think it brings a very cool combat system to the table, so it has an original twist. Originality is important to me personally. It's polished visually, and although the world is small, it's still solid.
It's got some annoying ass mechanical issues, all the side missions, without exclusion, are generally boring as hell, but work to take you away from the intensity of the main story.
It's the kind of game I'd value at 30 Euro - not full price, tho it is a proper studio game.
>it gets good 45 hours in trust me!
fuck off drone
Not bad anime.
I like it a lot and the OST is pretty fucking good.
Could be better with more development time and releasing it on actual consoles
The combat system is neat and worth expanding on in a sequel or something, the story's not bad, the aesthetic makes me kinda nostalgic for what sci-fi was like 10-20 years ago. I recommend it.
Mediocre and forgettable, which is why no one talks about it.
> I made it a hyperbole so I win!!!1
it takes maybe an hour for the real game to start if you're a drooling retard.
> waiting for the fucking tutorial to be over is "it gets good x hours in"
This is only true if the tutorial overstays its welcome, which this doesn't unless you're an impatient zoomer.
seethe :)
Its fine, people are just assblasted about it being on the Switch
who is talking about the tutorial?
Its about how the game barely has any combat and its mostly boring busywork and dogshit platforming
Combat hasnt open up yet. Maybe give a somewhat complex game more then 30min? Also the game is only 20 hours
Pretty good, particularly for a new IP. People that hate it are playing it expecting Bayonetta which it is not.
There is an investigative portion in each file followed by the action sequences.
Combat is unique. It is not Bayonetta style combo and dodge. You get a lot of skills (eventually, they don't throw it all to you at once) and you need to predict and react to enemies rather than simply dodging attacks. In other words, if an enemy telegraphs an attack, that's your cue to do something rather than your cue to dodge.
Graphics are pretty and refined considering the platform. The story is typical anime plot you can see a mile coming, but is neither too trashy nor too serious.
Which stops being true partway through chapter 3.
seething snoycuck mad that it's switch exclusive. i bet you downvoted it on metacritic liek the snoy you are
straight up lies, this is how you recognize a shill
Why would you shit on a game you clearly barely even played, retard?
514611285
I played it unlike you, so I know that I am right
now fuck off nigger
Alright retard, keep lying I guess.
Cope ; )
The secret final boss battle where the music is an instrumental of the opening theme and then transitions to the vocal version when you get his health down half way - that was some kino shit.
I love its aesthetic and basically everything about it that isn't the core gameplay experience. I ALMOST really like the combat but it's such a visual mess at 30fps that I never felt like I did well when it told me I did and I didn't feel like improving when the game told me I performed poorly. The pace breaking stuff would be perfectly fine with me if they didn't put you on autopilot by basically doing all the work for you and telling you exactly what to do. It's pretty frustrating because I'm so close to loving the game but it does enough wrong that it falls well below love and just into "okay" territory.
Waiting a couple years for either pc port or deep discount
>In other words, if an enemy telegraphs an attack, that's your cue to do something rather than your cue to dodge.
This game has some of the quickest enemy telegraphs I've seen in a while. In a lot of cases you simply don't have time to be reactive to enemy attacks with anything other than dodges or perfect calls. Your myriad means of turning off enemy AI are better used preemptively.
