Square is more likely to push someone like Neku or Chrono, both from dead series, instead of Geno. Mostly because they're beloved and recognized from different spheres, meaning more people are willing to snatch them up. You guys need to understand that DLC needs to be marketed and sold to a wide playerbase. And if you have to convince 95% of players to buy someone they've literally never heard of, especially if your core audience doesn't know who he is, that's a bad sales move.

Because with the exception of Mario & sonic at ____ Olympics, no Mario kart/ party/ sport game has ventured into the chaotic Pandora's box that is 3rd party shenanigans, since geno is in a cold case joint custody battle with SE.
Also, I can't imagine there's a large overlap of RPG players and casual party bullshit players

I'm not against geno getting in at all because Mario RPG was one of my favorite games as a kid and I think Geno by himself is a neat concept with lots of options for movesets. But I also think people who are riding the 'spirit rule bring broken thanks to Min Min' wave need to be careful because while its true that it gives Geno a chance to be a Character, it doesnt mean he couldn't just return as a Mii gunner outfit. They could just update the outfit and use it as the spirit battle just like they did with Cuphead. Ultimately this is the biggest gamble right now, since Geno getting in or Geno being an updated Mii costume will subject everyone to terrible shitposting threads for years to come regardless of which side you were on. I wish you luck Genofags, but dont let your hope get the best of you. You really don't want to have the mindset that he is basically confirmed until it's actually happened, and we still have no real idea what will come out of this 2nd package.

It wouldn't even have to be geno, but mallow seems unappealing. Hell, I'd even take jinx or smithy. I just think the game overall is overlooked and underrated. I feel like if we get another S-E character (and I doubt it given how difficult they're to work with) is that we'd get another FF character, or a KH character, or Lara Croft. Imagine you could pick any franchise one of those franchises to not just pick a character from but also create a stage and more importantly imo pick music from?
