Should I get prey or Dishonored 2?

Prey its underrated imo. Its not for everyone and its very love it or hate it. I like it for the sense of isolation and lonliness it has.

Dishonored 2 DLC is terrible so he can skip it

I played them both (Dishonored as Emily) and it felt like 1 with extra steps.
However playing prey without objective markers was easier than Dishonored without them, which I didn't like.

Holy fuck. I don't want this genre to die so buy both. Only Dishonered 2 is a bit weaker than the 1st and Prey has some wierd ideas, plot and balance but they're well worth playing.

Yeah, I've replayed the first game and its DLC and few time. I'm not sure what it is a bout 2. Its cool and all, but I had to work to get into it, rarther than being absorbed into its setting and story. I think it felt more sluggish to play too. I know it had a botched release, fuck ton of bugs and virtually unplayable for a couple of months if memory serves too.

Story, lore and the plague background was much better in 1,but the gameplay and level design is better in 2.

prey is fantastic in my opinion but the gun variety is fucked - i cant remember quite right but it felt like there were 3 or 4 guns and some limited powers.

Dishonored 2 is such a cluttered blown out mess of a game that it makes Fallout 3 look clean. What the fuck happened to the levels?

Mooncrash is one of the best DLC's let alone a fantastic roguelike on its own.

The robot enemies were cool as fuck, the clockwork mansion was cool too.
And the level torn between time was interesting too.

New weapons, new enemies, a new station that's about 1/4 the size of Talos 1

That's a bit of a shame. The gameplay was great and I'm glad it improves, but the setting and characters are what really pulled me into the first one and set it apart from most of the rest of the genre. I wasn't even that interested in the first game from what little I'd seen of it but just the opening boat ride in and talks with the characters at the top of the tower pulled me in harder and faster than just about any other game I've played. The whole setting felt kind of surreal too since I played it for the first time a month ago when all of the pandemic and rioting stuff was really starting.

DH1 had a lot of interesting lore elements that were either completely ignored, retconned or anything in between in the sequel. I also stand by my word when i say the Dihsonored series should've had been anthology based with a completely different cast for each numbered entry. Shame the Blue checkmark twitter newhire writer room for Death of the Outsider practically delivered the final blow to the head of this IP.

Does the full game of Dishonored 2 have the same horrible framepacing as the demo?

I don't know what you mean by framepacing, but I pirated 2 and on a GTX980m the frame dipped hard (20-30) on medium setting on the clockwork mansion.
Other missions that are big and have a lot of moving parts suffer from the same issue.
