Playing NV for the first time

I'm having fun. Don't see what the problem is with the combat, and the map isn't that empty.

Fallout 4 and 3 are better

Enjoy it. It's almost like if you play a game and form your opinion you find that Zig Forums is filled with autistic retards who sperg out at the drop of a pin

(You)
I have 300+ hours in 4 and I can still say NV is the better game.

But people shouldn't be allowed to form the wrong opinions.

the map's just more awfully arranged compared to 3 desu. not that i know how to put it in words, though, but playing the latter after NV gave me a sense of danger that i didn't feel in the Mojave

How?

Due to the lack of a period, I assume you didn't complete your sentence: "Fallout 4 and 3 are better if you're retarded, like me."

Hopefully, my correction has cleared the confusion.

3 and 4 are squares with semi equally spaced locations with only minor changes in difficulty between them thanks to difficulty scaling

FNV feels like a real region, the game semi railroads you to teach you the game and raise the difficulty and variety then you open up to the vegas area and the game jumps around like 3 and 4. Plus anybody with a brain who replays FNV knows how to get from Goodsprings to Vegas within 10 minutes at lvl1.

this game was ok but it was basically one giant DLC for fallout 3 made by another team. If any company was given a complete game and told to just add new skins to it the same result would come up almost ever time,

Imagine being this person

>fallout 3
A total of 5 examples
Yeah nah new vegas is still better

After playing on console for so long and finally getting it on PC and modding it, I have to say the vanilla combat is much better than people give it credit for. I've found myself largely just getting quality of life and fix mods and things of that nature, with only a few gameplay changing mods like Jsawyer. I tried some mods that "overhaul" the gameplay and combat like BLEED and the end result is always making the game horribly balanced and often much easier in the end. Bullet sponges are 10x better than just one shotting everything at max draw distance with a .308 and the game doesn't work well if you try to turn it into STALKER-lite.

>sidequests
Those are literally all the main quests in FO3, all the sidequests consists on 'go there, kill some assholes, collect thing, come for reward'. It's a mediocre game at best.

>Those are literally all the main quests in FO3
Not one of them is even tangentially related to the main quest.

Problem with the game is: it tries to segment areas which fails badly so they have their own story. It fails because by nature, they tried to write it so the world is connected but at the same time, it's completely disconnected in some ways

New Vegas is where it all falls apart with the quests for joining factions.

None of that matters though because even after the DLC, they admitted it would never have been finished and that it was their own fault for constantly adding in things when previous things weren't even at 50% completion rate.

Why does everyone hate Project Nevada

Neither are the NV sidequests in that pic so your argument is invalid.

What? I honestly felt the areas were segmented beautifully, the road from good springs > primm > Mojave outpost > nipton > novac, etc till the strip is very organic, they all have their own problems and troubles but are all still connected. I'm playing ttw now with fallout 3 for first time and it truly feels like a theme park, now I understand why everybody is bitching about that

I prefer Fo3 but, New Vegas is a good game

The image compares the side quests between Fallout 3 and New Vegas. New Vegas has very simple and short side quests with little to no branching. Fallout 3 has long and complex side quests with multiple branching. That's just a fact. That's why there's 700 side quests in New Vegas compared to Fallout 3's paltry dozen. NV is quantity over quality. Even Obsidian themselves have admitted that. Get over it.

Because it's a buggy mess and very outdated, theres much better alternatives now

such as?

Up until you get to Novac, it all does connect. But after Novac the rest of the world is ignored for New Vegas itself

Then there are the quests afterwards it's like "oh yeah the Khans are needed, go find them" kinda deal.
Basically they want to connect it but at the same time have it not connected for immersion

Because it tends to overwrite a lot at once so if you want more levels between perks or less hp per level you're better off just modding that in, by mods or modding it yourself.
It ads in a lot of content that not everyone wants

NV now is my go to comfy game, I still discover things in my 4th playthrough. Wish I delete my memory of it and play it for the first time again

The image is nothing but cherrypicking
>Muh Beyond the Beef
So that sidequest doesn't count because it is infinitely better than all the main quests in FO3? Yeah, not biased at all.

Check out viva new Vegas guide gameplay section, but for a basic setup you could just get just mods assorted, b42 quick throw and the standalone cyborg implants system

how does TTW shake things up? never been too curious enough to see how the mod works, got burned out with Gamebryo shit some time ago

>infinitely better
It's on par with Fallout 3. It's not infinitely better. And using it as your evidence is disingenuous because it's an anomaly in NV, not the norm. Those examples ARE the norm in Fallout 3 though. The "muh beyond the beef" joke is because whenever NV is criticized for its quest design the fanboys would always go "muh beyond the beef". Every single time. Always that one quest. Because there's nothing else.

Since I burned myself out on NV bcz I've been playing it since quarantine, I decided to get ttw. Honestly it's a nice change of pace and gives me a solid backstory of my courier with the lone courier mod. Game plays well and no bugs in 20 hours, story of fo3 not as gripping as nv but 'enjoyable' nonetheless, I recommend it.

Good. 1600+ hours here, I love this game so much

Imagine being so BTFO'd so you post the same images over and over.
The absolute state of Bethestards.

haven’t been BTFOed yet

>take quest to assasinate some dude
>"what? the only way to finish the quest is to assasinate dude? wtf shit game!!!
lmao bethesdabrain

why can't people just admit 3 has better quest design? it has better exploration too even though it's ultimately not the better game

the map is smaller but way more fulfilled.

And way more lore.

You can get pretty much everything in it through other mods, that do those things better with better compatibility. Project Nevada at this point is like buying a prebuilt desktop instead of building your own PC. There's a Google doc in the fallout /vg/ thread for New Vegas with a solid list of mods and explanations for everything. Yes you have to go through a few dozen plugins but each are easy to install and in the end you have a better game than what PN offers.

>start my 20th or so play through
>"this time I'll play a cowboy or go melee"
>end up playing sneaky sniper guy
>every time

how do I break the cycle guys

>comparing an endgame quest to an early game quest

its a GREAT fucking game. dont let anyone tell you otherwise. bethesda can go fuck itself in the ass

New redditors SEETHING

This is what an assassination quest looks like in Fallout 3.
