Abby's revenge is against a guy who doomed the world and killed her father. How is that less virtuous than what Ellie is doing?

Game doesn't do a good job making Abby a character you can sympathize with. Comes across very forced when they flashback to her father being a "lovable autist". That scene also comes way too late in to the game.
Her part of the story only gets interesting when you're with Lev.

I don’t know man she is starting to grow on me. I hate her fucking posse though. Reminds me of GI Jane. The plot of this game is so damn dumb but the gameplay feels fun as fuck I love how brutal Abby is. I’m just playing the game and ignoring the story and using my own head cannon honestly.

Naughty Dog had plenty of time to release a Ground Zeroes/Lost Legacy type of game before TLOU2 came out. We should have gotten that maybe back in 2017-2018. Just a midquel game that introduced us to Abby and fleshed these characters out more instead of randomly forcing them on us

The game isn’t asking you to agree with her. I 100% think that Abby is evil, but her section is fascinating and gives you insight into her actions and motivations. Obviously they’re also trying to humanize her, but again, you can humanize a villain without compromising their role as an antagonist.
But hey, if you don’t care, you don’t care. I’d give it until you’re at the Lev and Yara sections before dropping it though, some
players initially hate the Abby part but warm up to it.
