I'm really looking forward to Demon Souls. Not really looking forward to the new Halo since I'm not a fan of 343.
If this is the case, I'll lay off getting the PS5. Some people are saying 2021 for Demon Souls, if that's the case it'd be a massive bummer.

Demon's Soul will be a launch title. The reason they didn't announce the date is because it'd give away the PS5 too. Bluepoint have been working on it for 2 years, another year seems unreasonable since it's a remake of an existing game.

The thumbstick position actually will fuck with you if you've been using the Xbox controller for decades and suddenly jump to the ps5's thumbsticks.

Xbox is going to be taking a more consumer friendly approach from now on, allowing you to run any Xbox One games and they're having a big focus on backwards compatibility since they're moving away from the generational system on consoles in the past.

All your accessories / games from Xbox One will work on the Series X.

My worry is that Xbox doesn't have any exclusives so all that doesn't matter if they don't have games to back it up.

They're waiting until their big July event to showcase their new games, they're coming to both Xbox and PC (since nu-Xbox is basically just a locked down PC).

They bought a bunch of studios a while back and quite a few still haven't revealed what they've been working on yet, so they'll probably reveal then.

They also want it to be a night of 'mic-drops' so I'd expect some big announcements (maybe Xbox Live Gold is now free).

Tbf, playstation exclusives were many but looking back I played a handful and mainly enjoyed 3rd party games more

If 7th and last gen is anything to go by, the PS5 will have a LOT more games, especially Japanese titles than Xbox. I'm still going Xbox due to the Series X's extensive BC and the fact I just enjoy Xbox consoles.

consoles would be fine if this were the case, if you weren't forced to pay for online but you can pay for things like gamepass. I hope microsoft do it, then Sony would have to.

You listed 2 games you would be interested in playing on the PS5 yet nothing on Xbox. Curious.

Why not get a PS5 soon after release and then get an Xbox when you feel like it has games? No one knows how much they're gonna cost, but I get the sense that maybe you don't have a decently-paying job because once you start supporting yourself you tend to have the simultaneously liberating and horrifying realization that $1000 is not a lot of money.

That said, its obvious that the PS5 is less baked as a machine than the Xbox Series X at this point. The Xbox has superior hardware, a bigger SSD, and a clearer plan for expanding SSD storage than the PS5 does. If you play mostly multiplats, you will have a superior experience on the Xbox, full stop. But a nice PC is always the winner of that game.

If Microsoft blow me away, I will get an Xbox.

Wait until more games get announced, DeS remake is not a good enough reason to buy a $500+ console. As it is the SeX seems like it won't have many or any exclusives at all so if you really wanna go that route you'd be better off investing in a PC, as for the PS5 you really should wait until you have a better idea what the library is gonna look like.

I'll wait, I got an Xbox one S for like $100 used and it had a disk tray and all shortly after it came out. So I'll wait.

a mentality like $1000 isn't a lot of money will quickly clear out your bank unless you're a millionaire.. I make $500 a week but I still try to save money.

Get a PC and emulate Demons Souls

I've already done that, but I would like to play DeS with the Northen Limit and online back and revived. I kind of believed the DeS remake rumors so I didn't finish DeS emulation because I want to play it through the remake instead.
