The first game is a pre-woke vampire RPG set in the early 00s, drawing from exhaustive tabletop lore for its background. The atmosphere, music, characters, voice acting etc. are all top notch. It's peak comfy.

The first one might arguably be my favorite game, failing that top five for sure, and for the longest time I wanted nothing more than a follow up. I remember the comfy vtmb threads on Zig Forums when the only thing we had on the horizon was the promised CCP MMO (lmao) and we'd lament that a second vtmb game would never happen. Fast forward to the hype when stuff started to happen and then to now. I'm still hoping the game has the charm and atmosphere of the first, but I don't know anymore.
