I'm bad as fuck with directions in real life as well, but I'm getting so fucking lost in this level, and I feel anxious as fuck about it, I constantly feel like I'm missing shit and I dont know where I am ever. It tires me out so much, I feel like dropping the game even if I loved it so far.
I'm not a zoomer, but I just got to Hong Kong for the first time and I'm getting filtered hard
I seem to remember the first level being much worse in that department.
>dropping the game at the best part
I managed to get around in the first level and learn it after some time, but Hong Kong is fucking me up, it's like a damn labyrinth.
dude I know, I fucking know, I love this game but I legit can't play it, I keep walking in circles and the feeling that I'm missing out and I dont know where I'm going is so fucking exhausting.
Take it easy, JC.
Your first objective is to get to the Compund where Tracer Tong is and speak to the guardsman.
Then, snoop around to find Maggie Chow.
Shit's easy.
Just keep in mind Hong Kong is divided in two major parts: the market and the riverside.
That's normal. The game rewards exploration for autists but can be completed without doing so.
My first playthrough was 32 hours but I ended up with at least 15 lockpicks, electronic tools, and rockets at end, so I could've cut down that time a lot by not sneaking around picking up extra shit and just shooting my way through.
What part confuses you and what are your current objectives
I am in the area next to Maggie Chow, but there are so many ways I can go, I spoke with a luminous path dude that said maggie is down to the left, but now I can go in 1000 directions and shit, and I dont feel like just going to the objectives and that's it, I want to explore and not miss shit but it's way too confusing
also, can anybody tell me why the game freezes for a few seconds when I open the inventory?
I am using the dx10 renderer with kentie's launcher, in borderless window because I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and it literally doesnt work in fullscreen. I searched a fix for the menu freeze and people said to go fullscreen, but that makes the game run in 10fps for some reason.
oh I think I fixed it, the framerate limit in kenties didnt work, I just left it uncapped, the cpu started rendering 500 frames and staying at 85 temperature, so I just capped it at 120 with rivatuner and now everything seems fine
no idea on the graphics issue or freezing, sorry
I'm guessing you haven't talked to her yet? Her apartment is where he's talking about.
From what I remember it's in Tonnochi road or something like that - in fact I think that's where the dude is when he tells you that
yeah I can find her, but like I said, the place seems fucking insanely huge with so many ways to go that are interconnected and shit, I would like to not just go to the objectives and skip everything else, but I would get lost if I explored. I just wish it had a map, would help brainlets like me a lot
wanting to stop when you reach hongkong is normal. it's worth it to finish it though. you are playing with gmdx mod right? also, cheat if you're getting tired. better to finish it that way than not at all if you are enjoying it.
I'm assuming this is bait. No, I'm playing vanilla with dx10 via kentie's. No, I'm not gonna cheat, in any game, it ruins the whole thing.
It's not big. It just has two/three main areas: the compound for the Luminous Path, Versalife and Lucky Money
then it has a few other side areas like the canals that are worth it to explore and sometimes tie into the area
Really just wander the fuck around and take notes. The fucking PC version even had custom notes if you wanted
Reference your map often. This level is the one time where you will need to use your map to figure out where to go without wandering around aimlessly. Use notes from your inventory and talk to people. You will miss shit on your first playthrough, it's fine. I just beat the game a few weeks ago.
Should I use the guard's way of getting to chow, or use the main lift? I hacked the lift and with 3444 and met a junkie there, and also found 1709 for another elevator code I think. She said the guards dont like if I come that way.
Dude
play how the fuck you want
Stop asking Zig Forums how to play
If you want to be sure: make a save, name it 'I am too stupid to make a decision' and go through the back door, if you are happy, continue, if not, load your 'I am too stupid to make a decision' save and go the other way
You just need to chill, and explore calmly. You're not timed or anything, so you can take as long as you need to get a sense of the area. ...and upside to taking your time, there's a lot of secrets and hidden areas to explore.
neverfucking mind I just found the fucking mj12 by lockpicking that gate
>bait
you yourself said you're getting tired when you reached HK. not sure where you got the impression it's "the best" part.
>I'm playing vanilla
shame. it's one of the rare mods that makes the game feel like it was intended. your loss I guess.
>No, I'm not gonna cheat, in any game, it ruins the whole thing.
oh, you're one of THOSE. nevermind then.
i don't remember it being that hard. I remember having more trouble with direction in the earlier levels.
have you been talking to npc's and gathering information and stuff? i always thought it was pretty intuitive.
>I feel anxious
>I constantly feel like I'm missing shit
FOMO even in a videogame that you can replay it how many times you want? Why? Calm down, faggot.
wait bros, did you trust miss chow on your first playthrough? So far, as what I understand, she says the luminous path stole the sword and that they are allied with mj12, but I discovered some mj12 soldiers by taking the other lift in her building. I dont trust her, I feel like she is trying to trick me. But then again, she did seem to know paul pretty well and was sad to hear he was dead. hmm
Just fucking play it how you want. Stop autistically searching for shit. The game is not going anywhere and you can always replay it over at a later date
>I dont trust her, I feel like she is trying to trick me. But then again, she did seem to know paul pretty well and was sad to hear he was dead. hmm
No idea if this is bait or genuine. Anyways, user, just keep playing it. Stop asking plot shit here.
I will still play however u want, I just wanted to discuss what you guys thought of it on a first playthrough. Those are my first impressions of her, I was curious of what yours were.
>exhausting
Also, this fucking meme word. You know what is exhausting? Heavy manual labour. Exercising all day. Fucking zoomers, playing games is not "exhausting". Drink some water, go for a walk if it's overwhelming.
>was sad to hear he was dead
How fucking dare you not save Paul. Uninstall.
HOLY SHIT this area is so hype Zig Forumsros. I read a note that said "I will never forget your birthday again - July 18th. So after fucking around a bit after talking to chow, I found a panel and tried 718 and it opened the door to the fucking dragons tooth. You cant achieve this kind of freedom in any other games I played, maybe only in Thief.
>Those are my first impressions of her, I was curious of what yours were.
About impressions, finish her section of the game first. We are just saying this stuff because we don't want to spoil the story for you. Soon enough you're going to know. Then we talk.
I TRIED, I fought all the dudes but for some reason he dissapeared randomly and the next thing I heard, he was fucking dead. I think it was a bug or something.
yup, I discovered the sword, it's confirmed now
>MJ12 Soldier: *Coughs*
Two words
I shamelessly exploited the lockpick/multi tool bug (where you open your inventory while picking so you only use one tool). Once I read about it I found it impossible not to exploit. I have no regrets.
You should always play vanilla first. Pushing your opinion and overhauling the game for someone's first time is only going to make them inexperienced.
