Uncomfortable Truths

I'll start.
Undertale is probably the best video games will ever have to offer and the only video game that could reasonably be considered "art".

It always was. It's just that Zig Forums automatically assumes popular = bad. Look at all the Cyberpunk and TLOU2 hate.

wouldn't say the best, but yeah, it offers a story that only a game can offer, it literally would not work in any other media.
The only thing it has it's that the meta nature requires you to be familiar with games to understand it, so it can't break through normies (as in people that think games = for kids).
But that's probably what makes it closer to "art".

>musician tries to make a video game
>it's good
huh.

I love Undertale, but you should really play more games.

Not really, it's just okay. There's nothing terribly deep or revolutionary about it.

I mean generally if a game has bad music then more often than not the game is usually bad too, right?

>it offers a story that only a game can offer, it literally would not work in any other media.
which is a really shame because of how great the characters worldbuilding and story are
it'd be great to see more but isnt really something that could be appropriately translated to a comic movie or tv series

i think you miss the point of the statement entirely user. Fox is (or was) a musician first and foremost, not a game developer.

more games should really be like undertale
because than they could be actually considered art instead of lame 12 year olds shooter

Just finished it for the first time today and It’s okay, but I don’t get why people refuse to play it because of the fanbase which doesn’t affect the game itself at all.

OP will you try to justify your opinion or is this going to be another cheap bait thread that reaches bump limit?

>Undertale is probably the best video games will ever have to offer and the only video game that could reasonably be considered "art".

it's not only the fanbase
it's also the type of graphics it has
because indie games are considered shit by default
and they happen to have pixel art or low poly graphics

these people are ignorant and close minded and kill gaming by default and they're a majority of people who play games now because they never got to play eariler generations of gaming and they tend to be millenials

I think you missed the point of my statement too

>Just finished it for the first time today and It’s okay
which route did you play?

Want a real uncomfortable truth?
The nazis losing the war led probably to a worst future than if they managed to keep going until the regime collapsed on itself.
This illusion of compassion that have been shoved down the roots of contemporary culture only created a fucking mess

Undertale fans give fans of Undertale a bad rep by being cringe horny fucks who want to bone the skeleton/fish/gote/robot/kid/fire/spider/lizard/dog/randomnpc.

Also Sans doesn't know everything, Papyrus isn't a brainless baby, Toriel isn't all light and goodness but neither is she a complete bitch, Asgore isn't a cuck he's fucking depressed, and Chara was fucking dead until post-Genocide "victory".
Everything the player did is on them, scapegoating Chara and claiming Frisk to be innocent babu is fucking stupid.
Also Asriel isn't Flowey but Flowey was once (or rather remembers being) Asriel but Flowey's got no leg to stand on for his personality and behavioral drift.

nigga go back to Zig Forums what the fuck

Bet you if they won the war, we wouldn't have miserable shits like and his BLM/Antifa propaganda existing.

>Narrative "game" that pushes the message of "Don't use self defense or you're the real monster," having any form of quality above abysmal.
Nice try, kike.

Sorry I had a Zig Forumsbrainfart

Insertarle is mobile game tier

It's good but you didn't play nearly enough videogames to cast a big judgement like that.

>what is King Spade
Literally King Nigger.

maybe if you're a pizza-faced 13 year old who's never played a proper game

What games would you say are better examples then?

Its a good game but not an amazing one. The real gem is how the dev predicted standard gamer behavior and used it to make the game more reactive.

Also giving a steam key for Undertale (and not even the physical set) to the Pope is incredibly cringey and there's many many many more games with a good message out there that are physical and could be gifted along with the system for it.

Shut up Toby

>enemies are weaker than you
>they are also often less smart than you
>many attack you out of fear or confusion or they are misguided
>npc literally tells you that monsters with low HP won't want to fight you
>kill them anyway
>call it self defense
I hope I don't bump into you on the street. I wouldn't want you to have to defend yourself by savagely beating me to death.

Did you finish the True Pacifist run? After you're done, I highly recommend you to play Genocide simply for the two hardest bosses in the game and some interesting additional lore.
