I feel like critics didn’t give Death Stranding a fair score considering zombie walking sims now are 10/10
DS is a lot more groundbreaking in terms of it being almost an anti-game, and the lore, mystery, horror aspects are all done better from the first few hours.

I liked Death Stranding a lot more than TLOU2. And I enjoyed TLOU2 a lot. I think my taste in games is just out of step with most people on Zig Forums. Unironically I play games for the animations, models and materials. realtime 3D visuals are my main interest in life.

The truth is you have to decide for yourself because your brain is made out of the same shit as everyone else’s and if you think you can’t trust yourself then sure you deserve to be told what is what

Batman was literally created as an opposition, of a hero, not a villain, to Superman
As far as walking sims go, TLoU's gameplay is the most watered down, safe variation, while trying to present itself as something it isn't. Death Stranding unashamedly embraces its status as a walking sim and actually is a game about walking, with gameplay deeply, autistically focused on said walking. Its status as a walking sim disqualifies it for most people but if you want a walking sim specifically you'll find a lot more enjoyment in Kojimbo's game.
6/7 is a completely acceptable score for DS. It's full of faults but it has things worth playong as well.
I'll give the PC version a go. I haven't really seen anything of the actual gameplay, but the world looks really beautiful.

My guess is that 90% of critics never get far enough in the game to see where it's going. They play the first four hours and then read a wikipedia summary.

Its not a fucking walking sim. A walking sim is a game where you actually do nothing but walk around to areas of interest. This game has walking and hiking as an actual and in depth mechanic. Its more like whatever grow home is. Apart from being a low budget tech demo.

I played the game and enjoyed it but the flaws made it go from an 8 to a 7 to me, 6.8 is ok.
