Because the hyper violece in TLOU2 combined with the desire to have a realistic setting is just a complete farce. Blow like that would like the kid with a concussion at best but nah he's just temporarily indisposed. Ellie and her gf receive multiple fatal injuries which even if by some miracle they survive would leave them cripple for life but Ellie just walks it off an is hunting for Abby a short time later with no permanent damage.

I don't love the game or anything but I thought they were likeable enough. It was better than Ellie's boring relationship
