I wouldn't even know where to begin. There's probably plenty worth saving but I just don't care enough to look into it.
fucking greedy kikes
is it another episode of "jews ruin everything"?
Why is the internet archive so dumb? You can't just make shit available for free, you have to be smart. If it is commercial and copyrighted, you'll eventually draw attention. The name "internet archive" deludes people into thinking there is a preservation loophole. In reality, you can only really get away with preserving stuff only when the world has stopped caring about it.
Why are you posting this fearmongering misinformation?
Multiple people have already explained that nothing is going to happen.
if a game publisher has no plans on rereleasing all their old ass ps2 and ps1 games then i consider that not caring.
there's so much history that would be lost with this yet these fags are t alking about fucking video games
Fuck man. Dont even care about the games or whatever. I used it to view all the "controversial" videos and songs that were scrubbed off of YouTube and the likes.
>could
>might
>probably
FUCK OFFFFF
This.
RIP old websites, flash games, pictures and videos like moonman
if their lawyers are still willing to sue I'd say it is caring
God damn this can’t be happening.

> Earlier this month, Ars Technica reported on a massive lawsuit against the Internet Archive over its National Emergency Library, a temporary initiative that **made more than a million e-books freely available during the pandemic.**
>
> The litigants are major book publishers Hachette, HarperCollins, Wiley, and Penguin Random House
Fucking idiots. If they were getting in trouble for PS1 discs I am willing to bet that the game publishers would not have jumped straight to a lawsuit.

This is just modern book burning. Why are they so intent on destroying everything that remains of the old internet?

Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.
Because you can't rewrite the truth to suit your ends unless you make it unavailable to anyone else.
So make archives of those too? This is the video games board
way to put confirmation bias to words like this
Didn't this whole movement to cancel the Internet Archive literally start because of Cuck Wendig whining on twitter about it?
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll grab art books, strategy guides, and radio shows.
they had been fine for years but they did something stupid recently that put crosshairs on themselves.
Can't remember what it was but it was dumb.
some people don't want you to find out what they said and did in the past, pic related
The lawsuit is about lending out books for free if I recall correctly. They allowed free rentals during this covid period because libraries are obviously extremely closed and money is tight for people, and that allowed those who bitch about piracy a way in to sue. It's not really book burning so much as greedy fuckers demanding their shit is only available in certain places. I doubt they even give much of a shit about the rest of IA going under, this is solely about money.
"Intellectual property" does not exist and its enforcement violates physical property rights.
I guess I could start downloading shit but I’m gonna need help
Remember to grab artbooks. Any links to any besides these?:
