So now that its confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 has the largest city ever seen in a video game, will you finally admit that the game is looking like a hit?
Cyberpunk map revealed
You can see here the GTA V city is no where near as big.
Someone posted a webm in a previous thread that showed the city is actually pretty fucking big. Someone post it. It tracked the vehicle's location as it drove through the city then showed the route length relative to the whole map.
I don't think there's anything stopping it from being a hit considering the studio's pedigree, I just probably won't buy it myself because it doesn't interest me and I don't want to purchase the console necessary to play it. Probably will be the PS5's equivalent to Pokemon saleswise.
woah you can really see the difference
>So now that its confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 has the largest city ever seen in a video game
are you blind?
Do you know which thread? You can just get it from the archive
The maps literally have a scale you dingus
reminder
>if I don't look at the scale in the corner it doesn't exist!
user, what's 4.5 kilometres in miles?
4.8*
>the schizo math was right
Just short of 3 miles.
Assuming 150px is the distance traveled in the WEBM
Assuming an average northern velocity of 80 miles per hour
Assuming 18 seconds for the travel time
Map is 2560px x 2054px
80mph = 35.763 metres per second
Distance traveled is 18s x 35.763mps = 643.738m
Dimensions of the map are 17.067 x 13.693 units of 643.738m
= 10,986.676m x 8,814.704
= 10.987km x 8.815km
= 96.850km squared
= 37.394 square miles
>miles
Fucking burgers
GTA V's entire map is just shy of 50 sq. miles so that's pretty good (if accurate) considering CP77 isn't 75% empty desert and mountains. Should be big enough content-wise but not too bloated.
Wait why the fuck would you drive like that instead of literally just turning left at the first intersection?
This estimate - which may be off by a few square miles, is in line with statements made by CDPR that it's "a bit smaller" than TW3's 52sq miles but still large nonetheless
Looks great! Can't wait to play.
>It’s pretty fucking big
Who cares when it looks empty as fuck when driving around.
The fuck? Shit looks tiny? Is this the standard for modern AAA games?
Good boy.
They were trying to make the map look bigger.
They were having fun
$5 says the in-game quest marker GPS takes you around random extra streets just to try and pad out playtime
Hello and thank you for your interest in video games. We are always happy to see a member of the LGBT join our discussions. I'm still buying Cyberpunk 2077.
That's... actually a pretty good idea.
>There's fast-travel subways in the game
>But the city only takes like 3 minutes to drive from end to end anyway
This game is such dogshit, it's actually really funny.
I would take this bet. You sound insane.
Lmao yeah.
is CDPR a LGBT inclusive developer? will Cyberpunk 2077 be LGBT friendly? This is important.
seems pretty small, there must be a lot of building interiors to explore
Shame you didn't want to take the bet when I said they would cut classes out of the game too. Or when I said you wouldn't be able to hurt non-enemy NPCs. Or when I said they'd scrap customization for stuff you own like your car and your apartment.
Smaller maps need to be a thing. I'd rather 1 city block fully detailed like Yakuza than a 10km wide ghost town.
All that matters is if they made it comfy.
CDPR is a company with a mandatory 100% LGBTQAI++++ employee policy.
Because everyone who was playing the game was fucking blown away and having too much fun to notice that they weren't paying attention to where they needed to go.
>there must be a lot of building interiors to explore
You'd think that, because that's what a good developer would do. You'd be very wrong for thinking that though.
i kinda like that you can sort of see the cyberpunk 2020 map in it, pretty decent job at the original RPG books map+57 years of development
This. Although this might sound like a cope, smaller maps allow for more detail.
>Having so much fun
>Driving an extra 10 feet and then turning around
Oh yeah I can imagine. That extra 30 seconds of playtime where you just drove forward and then made a left turn was fucking riveting.
>make a game about cyberpunk
>make most of the map countryside
Good job.
Wasn't the city supposed to be nuked into the ground and then rebuilt?
>Constantly shifting the argument everytime they get discredited
Man, these anti-shills are in full force this week.
Didn't know there was a dam, wonder what kind of mission will go down there. I'm guessing the green blocks at the bottom left are the Badlands? Also of the blue parts are all somewhat accessible areas, then I wonder what that one single blue square under the dam is.
Easy to say that when you're sitting at your desk and shitposting on the internet instead of having fun in a game you're hyped to play. Don't even act like you didn't play GTAV and just ran people over for the fuck of it.
>it’s big so it’ll be a hit
i’m gonna get the game regardless but how is that an indicator that it’s a good game
shit is still shit even if it’s big
Would like another look at this as well. I saw it the other night, but didn't have a shot of the map for comparison. Regardless, even if the map is the size of GTA3's, I'll be happy so long as the early previewers are right and there's a cunt-ton of content packed into every corner.
Hear hear. This is why locations in Bethesda games can feel extremely comfy. They cut it down to what is needed and you feel extremely comfy fast and learn the layout in an instant.
eh i dunno actually, I just thought the highways around the big circle was similar enough.
>Shame you didn't want to take the bet when I said they would cut classes out of the game too.
anyone with a brain would realize you wouldn't get a simulation every pnp class. Its a game set in the world of cyberpunk, its not a pnp simulator.
>Or when I said you wouldn't be able to hurt non-enemy NPCs
this is false, you can hurt civilians
This is our world, your just living here.
>Or when I said you wouldn't be able to hurt non-enemy NPCs.
That's where your argument falls apart tranny.
>Also of the blue parts are all somewhat accessible areas,
They're just buildings, user. They colored all the buildings in.
>Don't even act like you didn't play GTAV
I literally have not been interested in a GTA game since San Andreas, so no I haven't.
>instead of having fun in a game you're hyped to play.
Bro after all the gameplay they dropped, I can't imagine being less hyped for a game.
>Solar panels underneath the shadows of cliffs
If we do the math again with the second half of the video where they're going more straight, they cross
roughly 77px in 6 seconds at an average speed of around 90mph
90mph = 40.234 mps
6 x 40.234 = 241.404m per 77px
2560px x 2054px ~ 33.247 x 26.675
33.247 * 241.404 = 8,025.959m
26.675 * 241.404 = 6,439.452m
8.026km x 6.439km = 51.679 sqkm = 19.953 sq miles
So this map is roughly 20 sq miles.
You can't even shitpost right. How much of a madfag do you need to be to come into a thread about a game you're "even less hyped for" and be a gigantic faggot?
Will there be a day in which video games will be able to recreate a city as big as actual modern RL cities and megacities?
Your tin-foil hat is showing.
It's concept art my dude.
Keep shilling for free, dude. I'm sure being the noble defender of a video game you've never played on the internet will work out for you one day.
>They're just buildings, user. They colored all the buildings in.
Yeah I worded that like shit. I meant "accessible" as in you can get close to them, they're part of the game, not background. Not as in "you'll be able to enter each and every one of them". What I meant is there's a random building in the middle of nowhere so I wonder what's it about.
This is tranny posting.
What are the solar panels looking at, user?
I could say the exact same thing to you, nigger. What exactly do you think you'll accomplish by shitting on a game you haven't even played yet?
>What exactly do you think you'll accomplish by shitting on a game you haven't even played yet?
Laughing at retards like you who will twist yourself into knots defending a game that gets worse and worse every time they show more of it.
8 fucking years of development, man. 8 years with unlimited budget and this is the best they can do.
shade
Most journos are saying that that's exactly the case though. Where did this CDPR hate-boner even come from? As far as I could tell they were thought of as fairly harmless eurojank-producers until Witcher 3, where everyone went apeshit and started digging through everything they've ever done for something that would finally prove that they're a studio manipulative villains. I seriously don't understand it. They've made like four games.
Imagine being the poor shithead who has to go out there and do maintenance on one of those fuckers? "Yeah, you're gonna be at Grid A-12, Row F, Column 6."
we already can, but not with any sort of interactivity
you either choose between every building enterable and only 10 buildings or you have as many as you want but none of them are usable and are just scenery. Those are your only options until we get quantum computing that isn't dogshit
Fucking delusional. Had you pegged from the moment you slapped your limp wrists on your keyboard and hit enter.
>8 years
You have no idea what you're talking about.
This looks like the Neo Tokyo map in Akira
>anti-shill
Is that supposed to be a bad thing?
Zig Forums isn't happy unless they're crapping all over something.
