Nah. The latter segments of the game up the difficulty to the point of annoyance (the game was clearly designed around 1 alien, and the mechanics of facehuggers are iffy at best) but up until then it's one of the best horror games ever made.

outlast is still better, its horror aspect almost hits perfection
only drawback is that its one of those horror games where you cant fight back at all, kinda cringe but the game is so good it makes up for it

the more you use the flamethrower, the wiser the alien gets to it in the hardest difficulties
its still very effective even on hard if you use it sparingly

i really enjoyed most of the game, definitely biased because i love Alien. but i agree with . towards the end of the game my patience was running low and i was getting really agitated with everything. the devs for whatever reason wanted to extend the game a bit more, everytime youd almost be at your objective something would happen which would push you back some. then youd have to make your way back to where you were and proceed. especially the games mechanics where you have to manually lift a lever and then press the button, stuff like that was really annoying me. id say if they removed the latter half, itd be an amazing game

I kinda hated this game until I played nightmare mode and learned that the reason the alien was ALWAYS right up my ass and never gave me breathing room was because I used the motion tracker too much.
Unironically I'm having an easier time in nightmare mode than my normal casual playthrough.
I DO hate how the best way to deal with almost every area after you know where to go is to just briskly walk straight at objectives so the AI is constantly "catching up" searching the rooms behind you but never reaching.
