Stop being poor
B-But how will they feed their families!!!

I'd be poor if I bought every game I've pirated (thousands.) Nope I dont care about ur response so dont bother loser fag. Also, I pirated ur moms booty if ur shivering what I timber.
post money
>tfw rich
>tfw smart enough to not get viruses
>Proud of being poor and retarded
I really don't understand this people
Tell me where the fuck I can find a Strider (2014) torrent with seeders and I'll gladly copy it illicitly to my hard drive.
I'm a NEET and in better financial shape than ever due to Unemployment bux.
I still refuse to tip, vote, pay for vidya or eat pussy.
Downloads are worth $0, even piracy isn't a good deal as it only gives you digital distribution for what it is worth - $0.
I don't care how rich you are, you shouldn't pay for downloads. Also, I remember reading a study that shows wealthier people pirate more than the poor
There is no duty to "support the creators"
You can't buy 99% of games these days, giving some company money for a download license is not buying a game, it is giving a company a donation without the company even having the decency to admit it is a donation.
>>tfw smart enough to not get viruses
A well made virus don't leave traces and is undetectable. You might have a rootkit and don't even know.
This. I didn't become wealthy by wasting money on intellectual """"property"""", and I'm sure as hell ain't gonna start doing it now.
Society hammers in these 'values' early so they stand in line, pay their taxes, pay the MSRP and obey all laws like good goy.
Being a hedonistic nihilist is SO fucking cash. The only think I care about are dank memes, free vidya and loli incest hentai.
>muh viruses
that is a technique the video game industry uses to trick people into not pirating
intellectual monopoly laws shouldn't exist
>intellectual monopoly laws shouldn't exist
This. So many leftie tards yell "CAPITALISM IS INHERENTLY FLAWED BECAUSE MUH MONOPOLIES" while they exists solely because authoritarian norms force people to treat ideas as property at gunpoint while it's objectively false.
Imagine how much quality fan-made vidya we could've had if the greedy jews in charge finally stopped bashing people over this thought crime bullshit.

The patent and copyright clause state the specific purpose of patent and copyright which is to promote the PROGRESS of science and art,not because it is property which it isn't and not because there is some inherent moral duty to "support creators" which there isn't, it does the exact opposite so it should be abolished. Charging for a download is regression. Several TB optical discs existed about 10 years ago yet never came to market, if someone started developing those exact formats again they would get sued. Superior display formats such as SED and FED never came to market because of licensing lawsuits, if someone wanted to develop SED or FED again they would have to spend millions and millions of dollars just on acquiring the rights before they can even start development again. You can't progress art so that doesn't need to be argued.
The only type of IP that there is any defense for is a very little bit of trademark, just enough so companies are able to be distinguished from each other. For example, GM and Ford could be allowed to be trademarked, but all subsequent brands and models shouldn't be as knowing the GM Cadillac Escalade is a GM Cadillac Escalade and not a theoretical Ford Cadillac Escalade and that the Ford Mustang is a Ford Mustang and not a GM Mustang is plenty enough distinction. This distinction should only be for consumers to be able to distinguish companies, not because it'll supposedly promote progress or anything.
>100% sale 24/7
Pirates seem kinda based to me.
Cope, Pablo.
ill pirate single player things, buy online, maybe spend extra money on single player just to see it in my library
>the specific purpose of patent and copyright which is to promote the PROGRESS of science and art
>allows only one legal entity to produce and improve something they've created instead of letting the public do it at a much faster rate
what did the state mean by this?
i think of it this way;
a game is $60. it usually takes, what, 5 mins to turn on vpn, find a good download, get a few connections, and start downloading? maybe a bit more if you have to manually update, find a crack, etc.?
let's be generous and say it takes, say, 15 minutes.
so, in essence, i traded 15 mins of my time for $60.
thats like getting paid $240 an hour, if i used that time working instead.
so it's a good trade-off for me.
LAN, direct connect, and player hosted servers used to be an option on PC, and that was when 99% of games were sold physical only with a much smaller potential customer base, until Valve fought harder than anyone else to make those not an option. By giving the industry their donation you are financially rewarding not being able to play MP via piracy
Can't charge for DLC, micro transactions, data mine, or stop pirates from playing when those are an option!
>just to see it in my library
subhuman
By giving patent and copyright a specific goal the founding fathers gave it a way to be abolished, unfortunately all the lobbying and shills and people brainwashed by said lobbyists and shills make it so it isn't abolished like it should be.
Some companies halted licensing for this epidemic because they stated they want to help speed up progress for a vaccine or whatever, these same companies that are pro Intellectual monopoly shills outright admitted that it retards advancement.
Another technique they use is use the word innovation instead of the word that should be used, advancement. Selling a turd with sprinkles on it in a jar could technically be innovation but it obviously isn't an advancement since that was always possible. Not all advancements are innovative, I don't have any statistics but I wouldn't be surprised if most real advancements aren't innovations.
Innovation vs advancement would be brainwashed drones calling the initial release of the iPhone innovation when it might be, but it isn't an advancement since it was possible, any real advancement was not done by Apple but by the chip manufacturers that did the real advancing, but not innovation, by creating powerful enough chips that weren't available before said advancement.
Art cannot be advanced so an argument only needs to be made against it advancing science.
Video games and all other software should have never been protected by copyright since they are functional, not expressive.
ive been pirating shit since 12 and i never got a virus. if i got some sort of "undetectable" (lmao) virus i'd know since i frequently buy shit online
that aside, not having an adblock (like the average npc user) is arguably 100x times more dangerous than pirating. though now browsers and windows have been greatly retardproofed, 2 missclicks and lacking UAC is all it takes to get a cryptolocker
so i find it amusing when some people invoke "viruses" to justify avoiding piracy, when they are so tech illiterate they couldn't even figure out how to set up adblock
>it usually takes, what, 5 mins to turn on vpn, find a good download, get a few connections, and start downloading?
the only reason you can't just go to a legal site and legally download at full speed is because of intellectual monopoly law.
Piracy is always more convenient than paying in a fair match up. If people truly cared about convenience then they would be against cancer like Steam
Piracy is superior as is, imagine how much better it would be if it were completely legalized like it should be
>pic
holy based, gonna steal that from now on
>turn on vpn
Do people unironically do this out of paranoia?
>use torrent
>can control the exact download speed to maximize efficiency while keeping the internet usable
>desktop icon is a shortcut of the exe, can right-click on it to immediately access the game folder
>use steam
>can't manually type the download speed, need to use their arbitrary increments
>desktop icon is a useless normalfag steam client shortcut, need to manually browse the files or go to stream properties to find the game folder
>other platforms
>can't even assign download speed, it's either 100% of your internet or 0%
most of the time advanced users get fucked if they don't torrent, since normie platforms are inefficient to use due to extensive retardproofing
uhhh, based department?
Only pirate retro / discontinued / abandon ware.
>If its in the eshop, buy it.
CONSOOOOOOOM
I've literally never seen a pirate who takes pride in it not have the most pleb taste.
And you people wonder why nobody ports anything to PC
pathetic
OH GOD IM CONSOOOOMING
Reminder that based Gabe knows piracy is a service issue. If you can easily afford games you want it's just not worth your time to pirate them, there are a host of minor annoyances to put up with (performance issues, no online, risk of virus if you're retarded, actually finding the game in question (most indie games aren't seeded) needing a VPN (where I live anyways), etc. But to be against piracy is to be against preserving history, versions of games that got removed from sale for instance. In the end only a small minority pirate because they prefer it to buying for some reason, it's a net benefit to everyone.
