it's really fucking good, the world is unbelievably interactive, the wait was well worth it. I hope rockstar's next game is just as good as this. so much better than rdr1

the missions are shit

They could have done so much more and the Soundtrack in 1 was better but Arthur is on a whole other level.

i refuse to go far enough that Arthur dies lmao

It's kino but Arthur should have killed Micah

Most of everything leading up to Chapter III was fantastic, afterwards the ball had been dropped, but not enough to make me hate it. It was a decent experience and certainly heightened if you fetishize the outdoors/19th century living to any degree.

Quit parroting what you heard in a video essay

And what the fuck was that island mini game? It felt like they wanted a Mexico map but higher ups wanted to cash in on nostalgia resulting in both being half baked.

Am I the only one that hates the Rockstar save system? I can never figure it out what got saved and what not. I once saved my game before trying to kill a legendary bear, so I can repeat that if I die and ge fucks off. I died, reloaded and it turns out the bear fucked off anyway.
What's the point of saves then?

It was ok. I've yet to play a R* campaign that is actually fun besides a couple parts of GTAV.

Sony style movie game now gets a pass cause its on PC

Sad!

the gameplay is boring
press button to auto aim to enemy and shoot
all the enemies act the same
all the guns feel the same
every encounter is cover, pop up, auto aim slow mo kill, repeat
every mission is the same were you just murder a dozen faceless mooks that all have the same AI and offer no new approaches or challenges

eventually you get so bogged down by the dull gameplay that you find yourself just hoping you dont have to play anymore so you can get to the next cutscene all the while thinking the story isnt even that good but its the only thing thats keeping you engaged anymore so you give it the benefit of the doubt

Nah. The Houser bros are gone. Rockstar is gonna be co-opted just like every other Am*rican AAA game company.

>Zig Forumsirgin likes movie game
i bet you like tlou2 you fucking tranny lol. this board is worst than Zig Forums

Absolute worst part of the game, yes. That is the ball being dropped. I can understand the decision wanting to use a time-skip but that section completely ruined all momentum.

I would have been enjoying the deterioration of the camp dynamic immensely if it wasn't for that 40min-1hr Uncharted knock off.

Some YouTube essayist told me that GTA3 is a better designed game so I can't agree with you.

It's high production value but boring as fuck.

Undead Nightmare 2 when?

Is poker's difficulty based on what city you play in?

This

The world looked nice and the cowboy sim aspect was okay but other than that it fucking sucked

I was tired of zombie games when Undead Nightmare came out and I'm even more tired now

It wouldn't be as good, but it could have been a harsh subversion of expections to have everything happen normally including the epilogue until you find Charles and find out Charles rode back for Arthur and managed to narrowly keep him alive in a dry cabin somewhere just long enough for the remaining ex-gang to show up and be with him as he died peacefully in a comfy bed. Then Sadie or Charles walks in right after he passes and says they've found Micah and they ride off to kill him with John.

OR

Arthur survives the fight with Micah, again barely, Charles scoops him up etc. Maybe buys more magic doctor serum or something. Then a few months or less later you play American Venom, but as a sickly Arthur which ends mostly the same way except Arthur dies in Dutch's arms and then THAT is what fully breaks Dutch's addled thug mind, his adopted son dying in his arms and knowing he was foolish enough to let Micah poison him against his son.

did anyone else expect micah to be a likable character at first?
instead he was just a two dimensional bad guy

The zombies are just filler, I want to shoot werewolves or something

>unbelievably interactive
Ahahaha, yeah super interactive when nothing you do for the camp matters at all in the story (or nothing matters at all other than muh karma meter for a binary ending). Rockstar is lazy as fuck.

You can turn off the aim assist, you know.
It was the same in RDR1.

I kinda agree with the rest but I actually feel there is too few action in the game. Might be because I like to travel around a lot and do challenges and explore between missions, but I usually find myself waiting anxiously to a random bandit encounter or to stumble upon a O'driscoll camp just so I can shoot something without losing honor.
But yeah, no real variety in enemies, all repeaters feel the same.

But dude like you can choose between two inconsequential voice lines to say to passers by

You reloaded the manual save? It should have been there.

This game was clearly heading more into some alien stuff or demonic stuff.
There is a huge hook for Undead nightmare-like DLC with the Butcher's creek curse and the whole aliens landing around Mount Shann.

they were great in the first playthrough, but I have to agree with you after replaying the game. Sometimes they even steal away your controls. It's way too linear
