Crysis: Remastered looks pretty good. It's basically Crysis as people remembered it, not as it actually was.

>coming to consoles
>coming to PS4/XB1
>coming to Switch
What the fuck
They're covering their bases. Expect the Switch port to be pretty heavily downgraded. And don't expect the high end PC features like ray tracing on consoles until the PS5/Series X.
Switch can probably run original Crysis easily enough
>It's basically Crysis as people remembered it, not as it actually was.
That's just a good way to describe modern remasters/remakes. I think I'll use that from now on.
As for Crysis, it's just a tech demo with a game half-heartedly slapped on, so I couldn't care less about it.
>As for Crysis, it's just a tech demo with a game half-heartedly slapped on
That's absolute nonsense. It's a peerless sandbox FPS that stands as an icon because nobody has figured out how to surpass it in the 13 years since its release.
>Regular caliber pistol
>Obliterates fence
>Looks pretty good
What did he mean by this?
There is a man shooting the fence with an assault rifle, but sure.
>Believing the "it's just a tech demo it's a generic shooter ugh" line that people that couldn't play it said as sour grapes
>Missing out on one of the best sandbox games ever
>Never did pic related
I love Crysis, but I can't see a difference in that trailer.
If it supports multicore better then I'm in, but I was hoping for more.
Absolutely fucking not. Have you seen how the new pokemon game looks on the Switch?
>As for Crysis, it's just a tech demo with a game half-heartedly slapped on, so I couldn't care less about it.
Have you ever watched more than thirty seconds of gameplay of Crysis?
I'm liking the new subtle animations on the guns now
You are insane.
Warface runs in the same engine that the remaster will run on and it's on Switch, pic related.
The new Pokemon looking like shit has nothing to do with Switch hardware.
It's kinda interesting how powerful Crysis nostalgia is that people think the game looked a lot better than it actually does.
Crysis was on ps3
I really enjoyed Crysis, but it was missed opportunity. It should have dropped the alien bullshit and been purely about a special forces team being dropped into enemy territory and having 7 days to sabotage the island's infrastructure that would have a dynamic effect on the subsequent invasion. The game has a few missions that are basically this and it is the best part of the game and should have been the focus. The alien shit nearly ruins the game and at that point only its tech saves it.
Old crysis had a more toned doqwn color palette and a more appealing art style
New crysis looks overly saturated
yeah because everyone seethed about brown and bloom last gen
Although i like the top original look more, i'd have to go with the bottom look because its more realistic, seeing i know how the inside of a plane would look like, the bottom is more correct in terms of lighting, it should be dark like that with the few light sources really more pronounced and bright.
The top is way to bright.
Do you actually remember what the recommended specs were for Crysis OG? The Switch can definitely run it.
As with Saints Row 3, I think a lot of hidden details and hidden improvements will become evident once people start comparing high quality footage of both versions. I really wanna see how hut interiors look with the new lighting model, for instance.
>sandbox
>really wide corridor filled with sand
Pick one.
I'm more interested in why Crysis 1 isn't a sandbox game.
LMAO no
The bigger problem with the top is that there are two lights, but there's clearly only one dynamic light. Prophet has a red tag on his strap, but it doesn't look red in the OG because there's no lighting on it. Crysis 1 was insane for 2007, but it has a lot of technical limitations caused by 2007-era rendering tech.
This is a really crappy and overcompressed screenshot, but that fire wasn't there in the original PC version, for instance. OG PC Crysis can only render a handful of lights per scene without performance shitting itself. So they had to choose carefully. With the 2011 console version and the new remaster they can add dynamic lighting willy-nilly across the game.
How much will this be? $30/40?
Reminder that Crysis was never fun and just a glorified tech demo for PCfags to praise
crysis was the singular exception though
how much is it? i didnt buy it until the multiplayer was already dead, so i got stuck playing with russians in the cracked version.
multiplayer was so much fun and i really want to get it while there is an actual playerbase. not if its $40 for a remaster though.
Why does performance go down the drain when there are more than a few dynamic lights?
Do the tanks still flip over?
