villain is evil...because he is evil
woah...
THE VOID'S GONNA FREAK!
Based
Why can't westerners get it right?
>MUH VOID
>I'M GOING TO KILL EVERYONE AND THEN MYSELF BARTZ
Unironically based.
rather than talk about whether nothingness is actually evil, I want to ask, just how much do we know about this shrub
what motivates a creature with no sensory organs and no nervous system to make up its mind, that things would actually be better, if they just weren't
raw emotion and force of will
Exdeath is directly hooked to the void when he says those things.
He's basically a herald.
pee and also poo
You know who else was evil just for the sake of it? Literal nazis.
Fuck off.
They basically funneled evil souls into a random tree. Later this tree gained sentience and autonomy
exdeath is unironically one of my favorite final fantasy villains. it's the only instance of "force of evil that wants to destroy the universe" that is actually interesting. maybe because he's a tree I guess
He also is unusually prepared for some situations.
>boomers were the true villain all along
>ExDeath is dub voiced by the best Uncle Phil/Shredder impersonator money could buy
>Same dude who does English M. Bison
>Gives him the authentic Saturday morning cartoon villain feel
They did good.
Unironically my fave FF villain
Also wearing full plate armour>>>wearing silly clothes

Well Zemus is just evil for the sake of evil isn't he? Though he just looks silly compared to Golbez and has virtually no screentime.
its been decades but I'm pretty sure zemus was a lunarian? which means there was some intrigue that prompted him to go full saturday morning
While I do appreciate pure evil antagonists too, people tend to forget Exdeath wasn't like that from the start. Initially he sought the void just as means of acquiring more power. To just rule over the lands as a tyrant presumably. He only became focused on deleting the existence after he took a dip in the void.
>Well Zemus is just evil for the sake of evil isn't he?
At first he just wanted to wipe out all life in the world so the Moon niggers could move into the new vacant lot. More moderate moonniggers just opted to sleep until room opened up. After he got killed his ghost was pretty much evil for the sake of it. In the end it didn't matter because Zeromus eventually killed off all the Lunarians in The After Years after the crystals that were keeping him sealed were broken.
Still his design is pretty cool. What happened to jrpg villain?
Technically he wanted to move onto earth and couldn't wait until the humans died out.
But the real reason people don't care for Zemus is that he's in the plot for all of 10 minutes.
Same reason people don't care much for Necron (CoD would be here too, but Xande isn't much better and at least CoD has tits).
"Argh. What is VOID?!" -- Exdeath.
Truly compelling character.
>surely you must have a reason?!
>nope, just felt like killin
what a madman
No it isn't.

Feel free to argue any of these/add any I missed. I feel like the majority of FF villains are generally manipulated by outside forces/victims of their creators
But he was pretty much evil because he wanted to follow in his mommy's footsteps of being an evil planet eating monster.
They thought that imprisoning evil monsters and magic inside a tree was a good idea for some reason. They trapped so many evil souls in it over such a long period of time that their collective grudge and hatred for all existence coalesced into its own being. Being birthed in a tree meant he had to get creative with locomotion. He moves on pure hatred for everything in existence alone.
you know they’re going to try to make him a sympathetic villain in the remake. I guarantee he will join your party at one point and he will end up being your friend Or some shit
>I guarantee he will join your party at one point
He was a guest character for the flashback in the original.
Sephiroth is a living weapon fucked in the head like Kefka, you can't really blame him for going nuclear. Hojo is the culprit.
I enjoyed kicking his ass in ffxiv

I thought you were talking about designs.
And I'm not trying to shit on Sephiroth, more on his copycats.
I can and I will.
Step up then lil nigga
