I have my old PS3 controller here but I was thinking about buying a GC or an Xbox. I mainly pretend to use for emulation since you can't emulate an analog with a keyboard and the button mapping is a nightmare.
I actually never used any controller other than the ps2 and ps3 ones and also never used a controler on PC.
I like the Xbox one controller, but not for games that rely on the d-pad. For that I use a DS3 or DS4 depending on if the game needs analog buttons or not.

Also, durability.
the PS3 controller is an ass and the analogs drift after some time, I have two and both are fucked.

DualShock 4 is the best pad I've ever bought for PC
t. PC gaymer since 95

But yeah, the Xbox One controller is the least pain to use on Windows 10 beyond personal preference.
Owen Ross
I honestly don't care for the D-PAD since the keyboard can already do this. I'm looking forward to triggers and analogs, stuff you can't do 100% with a mouse and keyboard.

Is that controller stuffed with cat food?? If nog, why is it so wet and disgusting?
Juan Price
just get the xbox one controller or even a 360 one is good has native support and you can get it for 20 bucks these days new and original
t. been using a 360 pad for 10 years now and it still works
X360 was the best. DS4 is shit when it comes to durability (I had to disassemble it multiple times for cleanup), and so is Xbone pad (triggers are complete shit). Meanwhile, my X360 pad still works like a charm after like a decade of use.

GC is nice for old games because it's easy to setup and has analog triggers
Christopher Long
So you eat the beans out of your own controller? How the fuck are you going to get all the beans out? It's gonna go bad
Isaiah Foster
>he doesn't know about the newly discovered baked bean cancels in melee
Nathan Brown
> How the fuck are you going to get all the beans out You don't, you left some for a later snack. don't get too glutton, user.
I thought it was maggots. Would've been better with maggots.

switch pro for 3D games, 8bitdo for 2D games

Anything with native xinput.

DS4 is the best, especially since you can get an app that lets you program buttons to touchpad swipes and stuff, it also feels good to use once you get used to the start button being in a wonky spot.

does it is press sensitive?

I used to be a big ds4 fan, and it's fine, but xbone is significantly better. More comfortable, native support, built better. And the d pad is fine imo. Idk much about aftermarket stuff. I want the snes pro+ bitdo thing for emulation but I'm lazy.
Blake Morales
I use the Switch Pro Controller for most 3D stuff, a Switch Fightstick Mini for fighting games and I bought an SN30 Pro+ for emulating stuff. I guess it depends and what you were raised on, people who grew up with PS hate using non-parallel controllers, same with Xbox and Nintendo guys.
Nicholas Sanders
I much prefer the 360 controller. My old one lasted almost a decade of abuse and I only retired it because the sticks had lost most of the play and when you dat it down they just kind of flopped to the side. I switched it for an xbone controller and it was falling apart in a month.
